Begin at Metro Quinta Normal for a stop in the park, walk through the passages "Compania" Street, visit the "Gargoyle space" a restored mansion district. At the Boulevard Lavaud, enjoy a snack and observe the original Avenue. Then, walk to the famous Plaza Yungay and finally visit the legendary Huaso Enrique Restaurant, an urban hub and a haven for Santiago's bohemian culture. Chile is a country rich in diversity and contrast which distinguishes it from other world destinations. Its continental length from north to south reaches over 4,300 kilometers in a narrow strip of land between the rugged Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Such a great expanse gives way to an array of privileged landscapes, beginning with the planet's most arid desert, transitioning through a fertile central valley, down through a land of lakes and volcanoes and ending in the glaciers, fjords, and granite-mountains of wild Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego - the farthest reaches of the continent.

Located in the lush Catarpe Valley of the Salt Mountain Range, just over a mile from the plaza of San Pedro, the Alto Atacama's design was influenced by local village architecture and conceived to blend seamlessly into its environment and appear as part of the terracotta-colored ridge that rises behind it. The setting, the sweeping views, the tranquility and silence, and the hotel's wonderful outdoor lounge spaces make the Alto Atacama a destination unto itself. Environmental sustainability and a strong connection with the local culture have put the Alto Atacama in a category of its own, as has its "Andescape" concept of decorative flora and stable of friendly llamas and alpacas, local cuisine, and Leave No Trace-schooled guides.

The Quitor Rooms are the 5 rooms closest to the Common Areas. The view from the private terraces of these guestrooms overlook the garden area of the hotel, framed against the Cordillera de la Sal in the background.
