Rio de Janeiro Historical Tour

To walk around the city center is to understand the transformation of Rio from a colonial village to thriving city utterly connected to the history of Brazil and the formation of its people.

After lunch, join your private guide as you walk to Largo da Carioca, to visit the St. Francis of Penitence church, a testimony of faith from the Baroque period, fully decorated in gold. Then, continue to Cinelandia square, surrounded by imposing public buildings like the National Library, Fine Arts Museum and Municipal Theater. Walking by buildings of many styles and ages, you will arrive at Praca XV, the first port of Rio, where thousands of immigrants arrived and an equal number of African slaves. Here you will find the Imperial Palace and the original Cathedral where three kings were crowned.

Rio by night - Rio Scenarium

There is no other place in Rio that embodies the energy of the Brazilian people more than the nightlife scene in the neighborhood of Lapa. Once the sun goes down, this normally quiet neighborhood turns into a bustling and vibrant area full of restaurants, nightclubs and bars. The streets fill with cariocas and gringos alike, who flock to this Rio nightlife Mecca with one thing in mind...fun! From traditional northeastern forro, to Rio's own samba, to reggae from Bahia, visitors will enjoy the best that Rio's music scene has to offer. On the Rio Nightlife Tour, your private guide will take you right to the heart of the action to one of the best clubs in Lapa, Rio Scenarium an unusual bar, a mix between an antique shop and an auction room, where the locals come to listen to traditional Brazilian jazz and samba.

The Iguacu National Park along with its "sister" park in Argentina form the most significant remaining rainforest in the southern cone of South America which along with the waterfalls, have been declared a National Heritage Site by UNESCO.

After visiting the falls walkway, the Macuco Ride is a not to be missed. A 3-kilometer-ride by wagon pulled by an electric vehicle and a 500-meter-walk in the forest, will take you to the floating base where inflatable boats take visitors to live the emotion of being so close to the base of the Falls. Experienced pilots maneuver amid the misty Falls.
