Welcome to Athens International Airport (also Eleftherios Venizelos). A Travelous representative awaits your arrival at passenger pick up holding a sign with your name printed on it. Private transfer provided by English speaking driver to your hotel.

After breakfast, meet with your private certified Travelous tour guide and embark on your panoramic tour of Athens; the capital of Greece and the birthplace of Democracy and Philosophy. Pass by the Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Parliament, Tomb of Unknown Soldier guarded by Evzones in their colorful uniforms, the Academy, the University and the National library. On the way to Acropolis pass by Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Olympian Zeus and stop at Panathenian Stadium, where the first Modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Continue to Acropolis (Ancient City). and admire the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in mind". Continue with a private tour of the new Acropolis Museum, a modern architectural building housing the most important statues from Acropolis and admire the wonders of the classical era (Mondays closed). After your City Tour, you will enjoy lunch in Plaka area leaving you the afternoon to explore the Ancient market before returning to your hotel.

This morning you will have an early transfer in private vehicle to the port of Piraeus, to embark on your cruise to the Greek Islands.

Ferry boat from Athens to Santorini. Duration approximately 6 hours.

Welcome to the island of Santorini. Known as the Black Pearl of the Aegean Sea, its volcanic land offers a great variety of natural products that will amaze you with its flavours and tastes. Your Travelous representative will be waiting for you at the port upon disembarkation from the boat holding a sign with your name printed on it . Transfer in private vehicle provided to your hotel.

Fira - Santorini

Get ready for an exciting day of exploring Santorini! Transfer from your hotel to the Athinios port, where you will embark on your private day tour on a traditional boat. Accompanied by your certified English speaking guide, your first stop is the Isle of Nea Kameni for the Volcano tour. Here you have the opportunity to climb up to the crater taking approximately 1.5 hours. Next the boat stops at Palaia Kameni where you can enjoy a short swim to the Hot Springs, which are many believe to have healing powers. In the afternoon, its off to Thirassia Island, where you have free time to explore the island, swim and have lunch. Finally, the boat sails along the coast and returnimg to the port of Athinios, where transfer is provided back to your hotel.

In the morning, your guide will pick you up from the hotel for your private city tour of Knossos & Heraklion. We begin our day visiting the Palace of Knossos; the largest of the Minoan Palaces, excavated and restored to its former splendor by the British archaeologist Sir Arthur Evans. Transport back 4.000 years to the time of the oldest civilization in Europe. The Palace of Knossos, centre of the Minoan Civilization, will render you breathless as you wonder over the technology and facilities of that period. Continue on to Heraklion city. History is very much alive in Heraklion just like in most Greek cities. Highlights include: The central square, surrounded by cafes, stores and restaurants, is dominated by the fountain of the Lions, built by Morozini, the Venetian governor in 1628 and The Town Hall, a building from the same era. Afternoon transfer to Rethymno provided for overnight.

Your day begins in Lindos, protected as a UNESCO world heritage site, with some buildings as old as 1,000 years of age, Lindos is a jewel nestled next to an imposing rock outcrop, towering over the natural harbor and coves, where the Acropolis and Crusader fort are located. One of the three ancient cities that make up Rhodes, Lindos has been inhabited for more than 3,000 years and has been a major commercial center with its port playing a big role in the trade routes of antiquity as well as a cultural haven, during the turbulent middle Ages and various occupations of the island. After Lindos, we proceed to the medieval city and the New Town of Rhodes. The modern part of Rhodes was built around the walls of the medieval city. Driving up to "Monte Smith", the hill overlooking Rhodes Town, you will have an opportunity to stop and admire the sites of the Hellenistic Acropolis, Stadium, and Amphitheatre and photograph the view offered from this vantage point.This panoramic tour continues through the new town, past the impressive municipal buildings of the Town Hall, the National Theatre, the Church of Evangelismos, the Prefecture, the Post Office and the Courthouse. Youe tour concludes at the "D' Amboise" gate of the Medieval city. Your guide will lead the way through the narrow cobbled streets to the majestic Grand Master's Palace, and then down the imposing "street of the Knights".

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.
  • tips and gratuities
  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
