Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport, you will be met by an airport representative and greeted with your name on a sign upon disembarking from the plane and provide shuttle transfer to passport control. After helping with luggage retrieval, you will escorted to passenger pick up area to meet your Travelous hosts.

Meet and assist provided by your Travelous representative. Transfer in private vehicle with English speaking driver from the Airport to your hotel for overnight.

Transfer in private vehicle with your Travelous Tour Guide just south of Tel Aviv to explore the old port city of Jaffa (Yafo). Enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Tel Aviv and gain a sense of the first Jewish city of the modern era, established in 1909. Next visit the spiritually moving Independence Hall, taking a step back in time to listen to David Ben Gurion"s moving Declaration of Independence which ended 2,000 years of Jewish yearning for a return to the land of their originSpend your afternoon with a Walking tour along Rothschild Boulevard and the various neighborhoods of this unique city. Tel Aviv was developed as a metropolitan city under the British Mandate in Palestine and was planned by Sir Patrick Geddes. End the day at the "Palmach Museum" where, through a modern i-media presentation, you find yourself immersed in the significant cultural moments such as the War of Independence and the establishment of the State of Israel. Follow the lives and experiences of the young men and women who founded Israel"s Defense Forces.

Haifa

Start your day by traveling north to the ancient city of Caesarea built by Herod the Great. Upon arrival into the one time Roman capital, explore the excavations sites of the crusaders' city, and the aqueduct. Admire, the ancient amphitheatre, which has been recently restored as a concert venue. Next, travel to Acre for a walk along the old harbour area and local market. Our final stop is at Rosh Hanikra, the northernmost point of Israel, where we descend by cable car into the limestone grottoes on the Mediterranean Sea. Your day concludes in the Haifa area for overnight.

Haifa

This morning you will be picked up by your private vehicle and driver from your hotel for an exciting exploratory day of touring. Haifa, built on the slopes of Mount Carmel, is the largest city in Northern Israel, and third largest city in the country. You will begin your tour at the city"s origin point, Mount Carmel. A part of the Jabal Mar Elyas mountain range stretching from Northern Israel to the Mediterranean Sea, the Carmel range is an admixture of limestone and flint, featuring many caves, and covered in several layers volcanic rocks. Upon ascending the mountain, we will head to the beautiful Bahai Temple for a walk through its outstanding gardens.

Afterwards we"ll drive to Meggido and begin our day tour of the Lower Galilee region. Here, we"ll see this great archeological site that inspired James Mitchner"s book The Source. Known in Greek Theology and the Book of Revelations as Armageddon, it is written that this is the where the final battle between good and evil will take place in the end of days. From there, it"s off the Kfar Cana to visit the Church of the Wedding where Jesus turned water into wine.

Your afternoon continues with a visit to Mount Tabor, where according to Christian tradition, this is the traditional site of Transfiguration (Jesus becomes radiant). A church and monastery are built on the summit and at 588 meters above sea level (almost 2,000 ft.), this natural stronghold boasts a magnificent view of the fertile Jezreel valley.

We will conclude our tour by exploring Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, Mary and Joseph and visit the Church of the Annunciation where Mary was first informed about her immaculate conception before returning to your hotel for the night.

Galilee

This morning we depart Haifa for the Galilee region to embark on an afternoon of the Mystical city of Safed. Known as birthplace of Kabbalah and one of the Four Holy Cities according to the Kabbalah tradtion, we will stroll through the narrow, winding alley"s, and visit some of the beautiful synagogues before browsing through the workshops and galleries found in the flourishing artists' quarter. \s1In the afternoon, your tour continues to the Banias Springs where we will have time for a nature hike to one of Israel"s most beautiful waterfalls. Flowing from the foot of Mount Hermon to the Jordan River, Banias is considered to be the largest springs feeding from the mountain. Transfer provided to your hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Galilee

On to Mount Beatitudes; north of the Sea of Galilee, atop the Beatitudes Mount, lies a beautiful church where you can enjoy a magnificent view of the northern part of Sea of Galilee and including Tabgha and Capernaum.The day begins with a visit to Capernaum; a 2nd century synagogue was discovered which threw light on the life of the community of that era. According to the Christian tradition, Jesus served here as a local rabbi and performed miracles. Next we"ll go to Tabgha to the Church of the Multiplication, the traditional site of the miracle of the iplication of the loaves and fishes and the third resurrection appearance of Jesus.Visit the Banias Springs where we will have time for a nature hike to one of Israel"s most beautiful waterfalls, which flows from the foot of Mount Hermon to the Jordan River. It is considered to be the largest spring feeding from Mt. Hermon. The day concludes at Yardenit (the Baptismal site).

Jerusalem

The day begins by heading south to the ancient remains of Beit Shean; one of the largest excavated sites in Israel. The Talmud mentions this city as being the "entrance to paradise." Visit the bathhouse and the Cardo. After a quick drive we"ll stop at Beit Alpha and see the famous zodiac mosaic floor in the ancient synagogue. Next we"ll visit Harod Spring. Biblical tradition says it was at this site that Gideon chose his best soldiers to fight the Midianites, based on the way they drank from the stream. Only 300 of them lifted the water to their mouths, so they could remain on their guard while they drank. With this small band, Gideon brought victory to the Israelites.

Your day begins with the ascension to the Mt. of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem: Overlooking the Old City, the Mount is covered partly in olive trees, cemeteries and churches - commemorating the Christian events of Jesus. Descend via Palm Sunday Way to visit the Garden of Gethsemane. Enter the Garden of Gethsemane, with its ancient olive trees believed to date back to the times of Christ. We will then reach the gates of the old city and walk the Via Dolorosa (the path Jesus walked, carrying the cross, on his way to crucifixion) and ending at the Church of Holy Sepulchre.

The tour continues on in the afternoon with the holiest place in Judaism today, the Western Wall - "Kotel". It is here that we begin to descend through the many layers of Jerusalem"s past at the time of the Temple through the Western Wall Tunnels*. Inside, a most interesting model shows the different dwelling periods and history of the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Stand on the site believed to be the nearest spot to the "Holy of Holies".

On to the Garden Tomb, an ancient Jewish sepulchre which matches the New Testament description of the tomb in which Jesus was buried. Protestants sanctify this location as the burial place of Jesus.

The Night Spectacular is a 45-minute light-and-sound display using the walls beneath the Tower of David as a backdrop. The moving images, sent from 20 projectors and two projection rooms, tell a wordless, politically neutral pictorial tale of the history of Jerusalem from the time of the Israelite kings down almost to the present day, treating viewers to dramatically larger-than-life reenactments of the deeds of David, the Romans, the monks, Muhammad, the Crusaders, Suleiman the Magnificent and the rest of the historical family.The sound and light show in Jerusalem is a definite highlight for any first time traveler.

Begin your day at Ein Gedi Reserve - a true highlight when touring Israel. Known for its waterfalls, this Oasis in the desert is mentioned several times in the Book of Psalms, and referenced in the biblical stories of King David hiding from King Saul. We continue south to the legendary mountaintop plateau of Masada and ascend by cable car to the ancient fortress. Explore the site with its synagogue and bathhouse. Here, was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure to float in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea - the lowest point on earth.

We will visit the newly renovated and exciting Israel Museum, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are exhibited,and view a large Model of Jerusalem, as it used to look in the 2nd Temple period. From there its off to Mt. Zion to visit King David's tomb and the Upper Room (The Last Supper).

Visit Machane Yehuda Market - Israeli Shook. Enjoy the colors, smells and unique atmosphere of the alleys and stalls, as well as tasting of local products.

According to Christian tradition, Bethlehem is the birthplace of Jesus of Nazareth and the town is inhabited by one of the oldest Christian communities in the world. Spend your afternoon exploring this city and its most significant landmark - the Church of the Nativity.

  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation

  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
