Welcome to Bogota! A Travelous representative will be waiting for you in the passenger area holding a sign with your name on it. Transfer in private vehicle with full assistance to your hotel for overnight.

After breakfast, your local guide and driver will take you on a drive through the countryside to the colonial village of Zipaquira.

Visit the world's only salt cathedral, an antiquated salt mine that was brilliantly transformed into a functioning salt cathedral. Be amazed by the icons and sculptures that were carved into the walls of this salt cave by talented sculptors and artists. Upon leaving the cathedral, explore the village's main square where you will have the chance to enjoy locally baked desserts and the handicraft market.

Evening at leisure to explore Bogota. Travelous recommends taking a walk through the Parque de la 93, known for being a music and cultural hot spot.

After breakfast, your private guide and driver will meet you in your hotel lobby and take you on an unforgettable tour of Bogota. See local parks, famous stadiums, ritzy shopping avenues and the coffee hot spots on your way to La Candelaria, Bogota's historical center.

Visit the highly acclaimed Museo del Oro, boasting a collection of over 55,000 gold pieces dating back thousands of years. Set out to El Parque Nacional Tayrona early in the morning while the park is quiet and the stunning beaches are deserted.

The walk to the spectacular Cabo San Juan beach is about two and a half hours through jungle and desert. Here, you can sit under hanging palms and watch the waves roll up to the golden sort. Horseback riding to the beach can be arranged as an alternative to the long hike.

Look out for members of the Kogi tribe who still live in the park, leading a tranquil life in their untouched village. As you walk, your guide will be on hand to explain not only the culture and history of the park but provide information about the wildlife that you may see on the way.

Cartagena

In the morning, set out to Minca, a mountainous region that was once occupied by the guerrilla and was therefore inaccessible.

Hike up to the Pozo Azul and take a refreshing dip before grabbing an organic baked good and delicious coffee at El Arca Minca. Hop on a motorcycle and continue to the world's largest permanent hammock at Casa Elemento. Catch stunning views of the mountain ranges while sipping on a cold beer at this exhilarating altitude.

Begin the three-hour journey to Cartagena on land with private vehicle and guide. Have your camera ready when you pass by Barranquilla, Shakira's hometown.

Embark on a full day tour with your private guide. Set off first to the Castillo San Felipe. The castle is the largest Spanish fortification in the Americas, dominating the old town of Cartagena. The first fortification on the site was started in 1536 and further extended over the following 200 years, mostly through slave labor. From the fort, continue to the Convento La Popa. The hill is the highest point in the city and commands excellent views of the bay, the old town and Caribbean Sea beyond. Started initially as a humble wooden chapel, it was later replaced by a more solid construction that was fortified two centuries later.

Your tour will take you through the old town under the Puerta Del Reloj, a symbol of Cartagena, into the Plaza de los Coches. Your guide will divulge the myths and legends, histories and stories of Cartagena from ancient times right up to the present. From the Plaza San Pedro Claver with its stunning Church, on to the Plaza Bolivar, with its shady areas, sip a fresh lemonade while watching the world go by.

Refresh yourself in your hotel's swimming pool or soak in the sizzling Jacuzzi. The evening is yours.

Cartagena

This full day tour to Rosario Islands gives you the opportunity to discover one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the Caribbean. The speed boat departs directly from the pier and will take you on a 60-minute ride through the Bay of Cartagena to the beautiful crystal-clear waters of the Rosario Islands archipelago. This group of 27 islands is surrounded by coral reefs and is the perfect location to go snorkeling and swimming in the pristine white sandy beaches. It is one of the 46 natural national parks of Colombia, created to protect one of the most important coral reefs of the Caribbean Colombian Coast.

Upon arrival on the island, you will have time to relax, sunbathe and swim. Enjoy a delicious lunch which consists of locally caught fresh fried fish, which is accompanied by coconut rice, plantains and salad, followed by dessert. This will be served with a refreshing soft drink and topped with Colombian coffee. After lunch you will have time to relax and take a final dip the Caribbean before returning to Cartagena by speed boat.

  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
