Upon arrival at San Jose airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who will be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Your representative will take you to your hotel where you will pick up your travel packet with vouchers and specific information regarding your travels.

Tortuguero

After an early departure you will enjoy a scenic drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park (breakfast enroute), followed by a relaxing boat trip through the jungle canals to get to Tortuguero. A welcome cocktail awaits you as you arrive in this natural paradise. Your naturalist guide will take you for a stroll through the Tortuguero town and to the Turtle Conservation center for a visit.

Tortuguero Beach is the most important nesting site of the endangered green turtle in the Western Hemisphere. Giant leatherback, hawksbill, and loggerhead turtles also nest here.

During your visit to Tortuguero, you will explore the National Park's system of waterways, a natural system of canals and navigable lagoons that crisscross the park from southeast to northwest, bringing a constant fresh supply of water to the park lowlands. These canals provide the perfect habitat for 57 species of amphibians, 111 species of reptiles and 60 species of mammals.

Optional Night Turtle Watching tour: Tortuguero beach is the most important nesting site of the endangered green turtle in the Western Hemisphere. Nesting can occur from late June to early October with key months being July and August.

Today, you will have an adventurous boat ride in Tortuguero National Park. This is a fascinating experience where you can see abundant flora and fauna along the jungle lined canals or Tortuguero. Return to the lodge for free time or for a relaxing siesta, enjoy the pool or go for a walk on the stunning grounds.

Enjoy a delicious dinner at the lodge and night at leisure to explore the incredible surroundings.

Arenal

After breakfast, you will begin your journey to Arenal leaving Tortuguero by boat and continuing by van. You will take a short break for a delicious lunch enroute. After lunch, you will depart your Tortuguero transportation and be met by your private transfer who will be waiting to take you on onwards to Arenal. Winding through the beautiful valleys and hills of Costa Rica, you will arrive in the La Fortuna/Arenal area around 3:30 p.m.

The awe-inspiring Arenal Volcano measures at least 5,450 feet and has a unique conic shape with a crater that is about 450 feet. Arenal's volcanic activity appears to be decreasing and explosions have become rare. La Fortuna is a hub for adventure seekers & nature lovers and offers a variety of adventures and activities.

Arenal Manoa - Junior Suite

Today, you will have a chance to see many of the highlights in the Fortuna area in this amazing 5 in 1 tour. With an early morning start from your hotel, head to your choice of the hanging bridges suspension bridge walk with guide or to the safari float boat trip. After the morning tour of your choice, you will head to the La Fortuna waterfall with a 20 minutes hike down to the base of the waterfall. There, you will be able to swim in the pristine waters of the Fortuna River followed by lunch.

After lunch, you will continue to Arenal National Park where you will have a guided walk as your guide explains the recent history and activity of the volcano as well as help you to try to spot wildlife along the way. Your day ends at Tabacon Hot Springs where you can soak and relax in the hot pools at the base of the Arenal Volcano before enjoying a mouth-watering dinner at Tabacon, a perfect culmination to an incredible day.

Monteverde

After breakfast at your resort, you will travel to Monteverde via El Taxi-Boat-Taxi service over the stunning Lake Arenal.

The taxi-boat-taxi service is a one-way transfer between Monteverde and Arenal Volcano and La Fortuna, or vice versa.

The two places are only 136km apart but the shortest direct route by road is not possible because of the mountain ranges. By taking a motorized, covered boat ride across the Arenal Lake you can save time. The shuttle departs twice daily traveling from Monteverde to Arenal, or Arenal to Monteverde. The trip lasts 3 - 4 hours and provides door to door service.

Enjoy the morning zipping through the treetops on a Canopy Tour that will take you on an exhilarating and safe adventure through lush, green canopy and across the majestic treetops of the rainforest.

Your afternoon is free for you to choose to visit the cloud forest, take a walk on the suspension bridges, or visit the Don Juan Coffee Plantation to see how this region's famous drink is harvested. If it's a clear day, prepare yourself for an awe-inspiring sunset where purple and red hues of color light up the evening sky as the sun sinks behind the horizon.

Private morning transfer to Manuel Antonio where you will get a chance to get up close and personal with area white faced monkeys and iguanas that can be found on the beautiful white sand beaches.

You will have the afternoon at leisure to explore. Manuel Antonio is in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Costa Rica, due to its expansive beaches and rich wildlife. We encourage you to visit the hidden Playa Espadilla where you might find yourself bathing with dolphins and sharing a beach with fuzzy two-toed sloths.

In the afternoon, you will sail aboard a 60-foot catamaran. This relaxing adventure gives you the opportunity to see dolphins, sea turtles, and birds of the Manuel Antonio Marine Preserve all while enjoying the breathtaking views of the Manuel Antonio coastline and offshore islands. Feast on fresh fruits, grilled fish brochettes, pasta salad, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic included) and enjoy the finest Costa Rican hospitality.

Enjoy the morning on a private-guided tour through Manuel Antonio National Park with one of our professional naturalist guides. This scenic park attracts over 160,000 people each year to its wide beaches with troops of monkeys that frequent the area. The park consists of mangrove swamps, primary rainforests and marshy woodlands and is bordered by the clear waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is a haven for over 100 mammal species including the highly endangered squirrel monkey, or mono titi.

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.
  • tips and gratuities
  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
