Naturalist guides will take you to fantastic and emblematic locations on each island and introduce you to the mysterious and wonderful secrets of its flora fauna and geology; with plenty of opportunity for walking, hiking, snorkeling or kayaking. You will also alternate these activities with swimming on colorful sand beaches and watching sea lions on a rocky shore.

Welcome to Ecuador! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who will be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Your representative will accompany you to your hotel and assist you with check-in.

Guayaquil - Baltra - Black Turtle Cove - Galapagos

After an early breakfast, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Quito Airport in time to catch your flight to the Galapagos Islands. The flight from Quito to the Galapagos is approximately 2 hours.

Upon arrival at Baltra travellers pass through an airport inspection point to insure that no foreign plants or animals are introduced to the islands and to pay the park entrance fee of $100 (unless prepaid), and $10 for the mandatory INGALA card. Guides will meet you, collect your luggage and escort you on the short bus ride to the harbour. Motorized rafts, called "Pangas" will transport you to the vessel and the crew will welcome you onboard. After departure and lunch, the first island visit is made.

On the north shore of Santa Cruz Island,we find a "Turtle Sanctuary" accessible only by sea where four species of mangrove crowd from the shore out into the lagoon, turtles enjoy swimming in the calm waters, peaking their heads above the surface while fish, rays and small sharks circle below. White-tipped reef sharks can be seen beneath the boat, sea birds, including pelicans, herons and egrets, all feed in the cove.

Galapagos - Sullivan Bay

Wet landing. This visitor site located at the southeastern portion of Santiago Island, and of important geologic interest, features extensive lava flows believed to have been formed during the last quarter of the 19th century.

Day 4
Galapagos - Rabida Island (Jervis)

Wet landing. Dark-red sand covers these unique beaches with incredible landscape; Rabida is considered the epicenter of the Galapagos Islands due to the diversity of its volcanic geology. Nesting Brown Pelicans are found from July through September and nine species of the famous Darwin's finches can be seen. We will also take a dinghy ride along cliffs to observe nesting seabirds, and snorkel off the coast, where marine life is particularly active.

Day 5
Galapagos - Tagus Cove - Urbina Bay

Dry landing on Galapagos' largest island, where we will learn about the eruption of the five volcanoes that form it. The trail leads to Darwin's salt-water crater lake and excellent views of lava fields and volcanic formations. We will return by the same path for a dinghy ride along a shoreline full of marine wildlife, where we will admire a variety of seabirds, such as the blue-footed boobies, brown noddy, terns and flighless cormorant.

Wet landing on the volcanic black becah. Depending on the season we may find giant tortoises, land iguanas and the unusual flightles cormorant, after a short walking inland, time is provided for snorkeling, giving you another chance to swim with sea turtles, sea lions and countless other tropical fish.

Espinosa Point - Baltra

Dry landing. Espinosa Point is the only spot that we visit on Fernandina, and from it we can see the island of Isabela across the Bolivar Channel, an area that boasts some of the highest diversity of endemic sea fauna in the Galapagos. The largest most primitive looking race of marine iguanas are found mingling with sea lions and Sally Lightfoot Crabs.

With its abundance of plants, animals, microorganisms and ecosystem, its four natural regions (Amazon, Andes, Galapagos, Pacific Coast, and its relatively small surface (approximately 280,000 km2/173938.88 square miles), Ecuador positions itself as the most diverse country per square meter in the world. A touristic paradise where in just a few days you can discover the glory of the Andes, bathe on lush Pacific Ocean beaches, explore the richness of the Amazon and marvel at the wonders of the Galapagos Islands.

Boasting panoramic windows from the Earth Deck next to the reception desk, library and boutique, the twenty-four Junior Suites have twin beds which can be joined and some of them have space for a third bed. Suites can be interconnected.

Terms and Conditions

What's Included:

What's not Included:

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.
  • tips and gratuities
  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
