You will begin your fascinating tour of Kandy with a visit to the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic!

The Temple of the Tooth Relic is located in the royal palace complex, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sinhalese kings and is a UNESCO world heritage site, partly due to the temple.

You will then visit the lush gardens in Peradeniya. Located in Peradeniya near Kandy, the gardens are noted for its rich and varied collections of tropical woody plants. Occupying 59 hectares (146 acres), it has about 4,000 species of plants. The most important specimens of the garden include palms, some of which are planted in impressive avenues. Significant, too, are the collections of orchids, gymnosperms, and flowering trees.

After visiting botanical garden proceed to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya is set in the heart of tea-country and is a town where the British succeeded in creating a replica of the English countryside, with Georgian and Queen Anne homes. Well-kept lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous golf course and a handful of sprawling parks hint at nostalgia for distant places. Situated 6,200 feet above sea level the air is cool and fresh- a serene retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
