Continue to Peru where you will explore the city of Cusco, once the capital of the Inca Empire, make your way to the fertile Sacred Valley where you will find colonial towns, weaving villages and many archaeological sites. Welcome to Guayaquil! Upon arrival at Quito airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Your representative will escort you to the hotel and assist you with check-in.

Guayaquil - North Seymour - Galapagos

Unfortunately, we will have to say goodbye today. A Travelous representative will take you to the airport in a private vehicle and further assist you there. Keep the memories alive and we hope to see you again in Ecuador!

Arrive at Baltra Island

Once you arrive at Baltra airport, you will clear immigration, be met by your guide, and escorted to the harbor. A motorized dinghy will then transfer you to the M/V Eclipse, where you will be welcomed by the Captain and crew.

North Seymour

North Seymour is a perfect introduction to the Galapagos Islands. Fauna abounds and you will soon find yourself surrounded by frigates and blue footed boobies. Keep an eye out for land iguanas and sea lions too! Difficulty level: Moderate.

Galapagos - Santa Fe Island (Barrington)

South Plaza

South Plaza Island is home to a large Opuntia cacti forest, land iguanas and one of the largest sea lion colonies in the central region of the archipelago. You will also be able to see Nazca boobies, swallow-tailed gulls, and other kinds of sea birds as well as different types of finches. Difficulty level: Moderate.

Santa Fe

During the hike you will see some of Santa Fe\u180\'b4s endemic species, including the Galapagos hawk, the Galapagos snake, various finches and the Galapagos mockingbird. Playful sea lions usually join swimmers and kayakers during beach time. Difficulty level: Moderate.

Galapagos - Cerro Brujo

San Cristobal - Punta Pitt

Punta Pitt is located on the eastern tip of San Cristobal Island. You will hike up to a plateau where the view and landscape are so spectacular it is definitely worth the effort. The power hike is followed by kayaking, snorkeling and dinghy ride opportunities. Difficulty level: Difficult.

San Cristobal - Cerro Brujo.

In addition to the magnificent scenery, there is a beautiful beach and a dinghy ride at the visitor site. Cerro Brujos' spectacular beach is home to a large colony of sea lions and is the first place in the archipelago that Charles Darwin visited. Difficulty level: Easy to Moderate.

Galapagos - Cormorant Point

Floreana - Post Office Bay - Baroness View Point

Post Office Bay is home to a unique "post office" inspired by 18th century pirates and buccaneers who used a wooden barrel as an unofficial mail box. The tradition continues today as visitors leave addressed postcards in the barrel and sort through left mail to deliver at home. The Baroness View point is the ideal place to take in the unique scenery that defines Floreana. Difficulty level: Easy.

Floreana - Champion Islet and Cormorant Point.

After snorkeling at Champion Islet, you will visit Cormorant Point, where there is a beautiful lagoon which is home to flamingos, stilts and pintall ducks. Difficulty level: Easy.

Galapagos - Moreno Point

Isabela Island - Elizabeth Bay

Elizabeth Bay is one of the furthest points of the Galapagos that we will visit on our cruise. We will enter a sheltered cove accessible by dinghy only - a wonderful mangrove ecosystem that is a refuge for sea turtles, rays, blue-footed boobies, penguins, herons and more. Difficulty level: Easy.

Isabela Island - Moreno Point

Moreno Point is located just southwest of Elizabeth Bay and is famous for its huge population of seabirds. You\u180\'b4ll be able to get up close on a dinghy ride along the cliffs of the island, or on a hike through lava rock that leads to the tide pools and mangroves teaming with life on the west coast of Isabela Island. Observe and learn about different types of lava and pioneer plants while being surrounded by some of the most incredible scenery that Galapagos has to offer. Difficulty level: Moderate to Difficult.

Baltra - Lima

On your visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station you will gain insight into the huge efforts being made by scientists, guides, rangers and park managers to preserve this UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see the famous Galapagos tortoises that are the islands" namesake. After the visit transfer to the airport for departure.

Welcome to Lima International Airport. Once you have cleared customs, a Travelous representative awaits your arrival holding a sign with your name printed on it. They will assist you with check in to your airport hotel for overnight stay.

A Travelous representative will escort you from the airport hotel to assist you with check-in for your flight.

Upon arrival at the Cusco Airport, transfer in private vehicle with full assistance to your hotel.

In the early afternoon, enjoy a private city tour of Cusco city and its surrounding ruins. This captivating city tour begins with a visit to Cusco's Main Square, known in Inca times as "Huyacaypata" or "The Warrior"s Square." This was the location of key political and cultural events in Cusco's history. The next stop is the great Cathedral, which was built between 1560 and 1664 with large stones of red granite taken from the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Next, tour the gold-plated Korikancha Temple, the most important temple dedicated to sun worship. Afterwards, continue to the ruins above Cusco: Kenko, Pucapucara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an imposing example of Inca military architecture.

Cusco - Sacred Valley

Bask in the glory of the Sacred Valley through a full-day tour of its alluring attractions.

Visit Pisac Ruins, set high above the valley (9,700ft), by patterned fields and rimmed with terraces, the stone work and panoramas from Pisac ruins are quite striking. Continue to Maras Salt Terraces glistening salt mines where local communities extract salt from these mines that have been in use since pre-Columbian times. Visit the archaeological site of Moray. Evidence suggests that Moray was an important center of Inca agricultural research on crops, which was carried out on different sized plots located at various altitudes (some of which were at more than 100 m. underground). The Andean terraces, built on retaining walls filled with fertile soil and watered via a complex irrigation system, offer more than 250 different types of vegetables and cereals, such as corn, quinoa and kiwicha.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Ollantaytambo Ruins, (9,160ft), named in honor of Chief Ollanta, who was famous for courting an Inca Princess daughter of Pachacutec. This ancient fortress contains the well-preserved area known as Hanan Hucaypata, which lies north of the main square and contains 15 houses that were built with elegantly crafted stone walks.

You will also have the opportunity to visit Chinchero, a vibrant community nestled in the mountains. Its main attraction, however, is its Sunday Market, which was originally dedicated to the barter of produce by the people of the valley, today it is a hub of pulsating activity of color and movement with its range of produce, handicrafts and textiles made in pre-Columbian style.

Ollantaytambo - Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes) - Machu Picchu

Transfer to Ollanta Station from the Sacred Valley with private vehicle and English speaking assistance.

Travel to Aguas Calientes on board the Vistadome Valley Train, accompanied by your private guide. Upon arrival, board the 30-minutes shuttle bus to the Machu Picchu citadel.

Enjoy a private exploration of Machu Picchu, a citadel considered to be one of the most extraordinary examples of landscape architecture in the world, re-discovered in 1911 by the explorer Hiram Bingham. Located in an enclave on the saddle of a mountain, overlooking the deep canyon of the Urubamba River, in an area of lush tropical forest, it served as a place of worship, a site for star-gazing and a private hacienda of the family of the Inca Pachacutec. It consists of two main areas: one agricultural and the other urban, which is noted for its sacred zone with its temples, squares and royal tombs.

After the tour, you will take the bus to Aguas Calientes town, escorted by your private guide.

Machu Picchu - Poroy Station - Cusco

Enjoy a leisurely morning so to explore Machu Picchu at your own pace. Travelous encourages you to return to Machu Picchu for a magical morning sunrise and the chance to climb Huayna Picchu.

The Machu Picchu ruins are limited to only 2,500 visitors per day between 6am and 2pm, while the Huayna Picchu hike is limited to 400 people per day. The 400 visitors are divided into two groups that depart at different times in the morning. The first group departs between 7-8am, while the second group departs between 10-11am. It is necessary to book the Huayna Picchu hike well in advance.

Transfer in private vehicle with full assitance to the Cusco airport .

A private guide will greet you at Lima airport and your final tour of Lima will begin upon arrival.

The guide will accompany you on a visit to the Larco Herrera Museum. The Museum showcases remarkable chronological galleries that provide an excellent overview of 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. Located in a unique vice-royal mansion of the 18th century, built over a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid, it is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The Museum features the finest gold and silver collection from Ancient Peru and the famous erotic archaeological collection. Larco is one of the few museums in the world where visitors may enter the storage area with its 45.000 classified archaeological objects. Its masterpieces are considered worldwide icons of Pre-Columbian art.

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.       In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.       Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.      Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.       Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, permits, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, permits, cruise or hotel deposits). 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
