Unravel the mysteries of the desert citadel, as you enjoy guided tour of the city highlights, which includes the Jaisalmer Fort, the main attraction of this picturesque desert city of Rajasthan. Located on the top of the Trikuta Hill, the ramparts, bastions and the long-stretching walls of the fort dazzle gloriously during early morning and at sunset. Continue on to Gadsisar Lake, a rainwater lake, adorned with an arched gateway. Many small shrines and temples are festooned all around the lake. Today, it is an ideal picnic spot, famous for boating. Also visit Jaisalmer's most intricately carved havelis or mansions - Salim Singh ki Haveli, built around 300 year ago, this haveli belonged to Salim Singh, the Prime Minister to then Maharaja of Jaisalmer, Maharaja Rawal Gaj Singh. Yellow stone that is covered with intricate carvings, elaborate balcony and beautiful blue cupola roof characterizes Salim Singh ki Haveli. Patwon-ki-Haveli, the grandest mansion in Jaisalmer, having a ceiling supported by exquisitely carved pillars. The delicately chiselled balconies and extensive corridors and chambers of this haveli also present an impressive sight. Round off the tour with a walk through narrow cobbled street.

Jaisalmer is famous for its camel safaris. The sand dunes at Sam near Jaisalmer are popular sites for camel safaris, one of the unique ways to explore small villages in Rajasthan. Also called the 'Ship of the Desert, the camel is marvellously adapted for life in the extreme desert climate. A camel ride across the sand dunes of the Rajasthan desert is an unforgettable experience.

Drive to the golden sand dunes near the quaint village of Khuri, located 45 km east of Jaisalmer or the Sam Sand Dunes, located 42km from Jaisalmer and embark upon a camel safari to reach the nearby sunset point on the dunes in time to catch the last rays of the setting sun over the dunes. The panorama creates a delightful mirage, definitely a photographer's ecstasy and a lifetime experience.

Sam Sand Dunes - the village of Sam is Jaisalmer's nearest real Sahara-like desert. The best place to see the sunrise and sunset on the picturesque sand dunes. The ripples on the wind-caressed dunes creating an enchanting mirage are surely a delight. Various cultural programs are organised against the backdrop of these fascinating dunes. Exciting camel safaris allow you to get the real feel of the desert on the camel back and you can spend a night on these dunes.

Famous for the Khuri sand dunes, located at a distance of 42 kilometres from the main Jaisalmer City, the Khuri village accords you a warm traditional greeting and shows you all that is real and glorious about Rajasthan. Feast your eyes on artistic fiestas that glamorise golden Jaisalmer sands with colours and ethnic charm. Colourful frescoes of animals, geometrical patterns, bird figures and other interesting patterns that adorn the mud walls of Khuri huts, create romantic vistas with their straw thatch-roofs.
