Welcome to Athens International Airport (also Eleftherios Venizelos). A Travelous representative awaits your arrival at passenger pick up holding a sign with your name printed on it. Private transfer provided by English speaking driver to your hotel.

Athens

After breakfast, meet with your private certified Travelous tour guide and embark on your panoramic tour of Athens; the capital of Greece and the birthplace of Democracy and Philosophy. Pass by the Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Parliament, Tomb of Unknown Soldier guarded by Evzones in their colorful uniforms, the Academy, the University and the National library. On the way to Acropolis pass by Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Olympian Zeus and stop at Panathenian Stadium, where the first Modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Continue to Acropolis (Ancient City). and admire the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in mind". Continue with a private tour of the new Acropolis Museum, a modern architectural building housing the most important statues from Acropolis and admire the wonders of the classical era (Mondays closed). After your City Tour, you will enjoy lunch in Plaka area leaving you the afternoon to explore the Ancient market before returning to your hotel.

After enjoying a morning at leisure, you will be taken to the Marina Zea to board your cruise boat, the beautiful Motor Sailor Galileo. Enjoy a welcome drink and meet your crew and fellow passengers.

Sail for the picturesque island of Poros for a short tour of this beautiful destination. Stroll through the cheerful pastel-coloured houses lining the streets, all the way up to the watchtower sitting on the hill, watching over the town. Visit the stunning cathedral and the ancient ruins before sailing onwards to Polyaigos.

Polyaigos - Folegandros - Mediterranean

In the morning, you will arrive at Polyaigos, an island famous for its amazing beaches. The beautiful little island of Polyaigos, meaning "many goats," has as its sole inhabitants\u8230\'85goats! They graze the pastures for numerous months of the year.

Enjoy a glorious morning swim followed by a BBQ on deck.

In the afternoon, you will sail to Folegandros, the Aegean Sea"s best-kept secret. This jewel of an island is known for its sheer cliffs and stunning yet secluded beaches. Take a leisurely walk to the quaint Upper City for a delicious dinner at a traditional Greek taverna.

Santorini - Mediterranean

This morning, you boat will anchor in Santorini where you have a full day at leisure with a variety of options to choose from. Explore its unique capital, Fira, visit the archaeological museum, pop into a craft studio or grab a mouth-watering pastry from one of the many traditional bakeries. Head to the hilltop for an awe-inspiring panoramic views of the island and the surrounding sea! You will also have the opportunity to take an optional excursion to the Akrotiti excavations and have a tour of the villages including the small beautiful village of Oia, known for its breath-taking view over the caldera. Or why not spend the day hiking up to the Volcano and afterwards, relaxing in the hot springs?

Mediterranean - Paros

Sail overnight from Sanorini to Antiparos. In the morning, you are free to enjoy the enchanting island of Antiparos or take a swim in its surrounding waters.

You will then continue on to Paros where you will visit Parikia, the main port of Paros. It is one of the most typical Cycladic settlements, displaying narrow cobbled paths, old churches, small shops and the typical blue and white houses. You will then visit the quaint village of Naoussa, surrounded by orchards, producing peaches, apples, cherries and other fruits.

Get ready for a unforgettable evening during Greek Night, where you will have a chance to watch and learn Greek dancing!

Mykonos - Mediterranean

Early morning transfer from the port of Paros to the Island of Mykonos.

After breakfast, you will have the option to take a morning tour to the unique archaeological site of Delos, antiquity"s most sacred island. Delos had a position as a holy sanctuary for a millennium before Olympian Greek mythology made it the birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Delos is truly exceptional, extensive and rich.

Mediterranean - Syros

Mid morning sailing from the port of Mykonos to the Island of Syros.

Welcome to Syros, the beautiful capital of the Cycladic Islands. Here, you will have some down time to relax on the beautiful sandy beaches or to walk through town and marvel at the unique architecture of the buildings. Throughout history, the island was known as Syra, then Syros in later years when the Phoenicians, the ancient Semitic civilization, inhabited it. In Homer"s Odyssey, Syros was the country of the swineherd Eumaeus who described it at length. Syros" history is incredibly vast, going back at least 5,000 years, to the Early Bronze Age of the Cycladic civilization.

Kythnos - Athens - Mediterranean

Early morning sailing from the port of Syros to the Island of Kythnos.

In the morning, you will arrive Kythnos, a fascinating island with more than 70 beaches! Enjoy a swim in the warm waters of Kolones Bay or spend the morning exploring the island on your own.

Set sail in the afternoon for Marina Zea port in Athens. You will arrive in the late afternoon via Cape Sounion, the Temple of Poseidon. Perched above the sea, the Temple was constructed in 444-440 BC, over the ruins of a temple dating from the Archaic Period. In a maritime country like Greece, the god of the sea occupied a high position in the divine hierarchy. In power, Poseidon was considered second only to Zeus, the supreme god himself. His implacable wrath, manifested in the form of storms, was greatly feared by all mariners.

Note: This itinerary does not stop at at Cape Sounion. It is only a photo opportunity befor continuing on to Athens.

Welcome back to Athens. Share a final delicious breakfast with your fellow passengers, before your onward journey. Bid farewell to the staff and crew and transfer in private vehicle from the port to your city hotel.

Depart your hotel late afternoon for a short panoramic drive through the City Center and up to Mount Lycabettus for a panoramic view of Athens. At the slope of the sacred hill you will be able to see, admire and photograph the illuminated Acropolis. Next you will visit the Museum and discover the divine origin of Ancient Greek musical instruments and explore the hidden paradise of Ancient Greek music history and its sounds. Afterwards, enjoy a pleasant walk through the narrow picturesque Plaka district, Athens's oldest and most picturesque neighborhood. The maze of cobblestone pedestrian streets is lined with shops, boutiques, souvenir stands and flea market stalls that beckon all that enter. This is your ideal location for picking up those last minute souvenirs for yourself and gifts for loved ones. Your evening concludes at a Traditional Greek Tavern for dinner. The meal is accompanied with Live music and Greek Folk Dancing in traditional costumes.

A five star property in the center of Athens, the hotel lays just in front of the famous Temple of Zeus and National Garden, underneath the Acropolis and only 2 minutes walk to the new Acropolis Museum. The 51 meter Galileo is a classic steel Motor Sailor built with the most stringent safety regulations, with spacious and well appointed interiors, rebuilt in 2004 and renovated in 2007. At the main deck, a lounge area with an American bar leads into a warm and elegant dining room finished with wood and leather. Guests on Galileo enjoy the most a shaded outdoor deck area with an outdoor bar and the ship"s sun deck equipped with sun beds and deckchairs.

The Category A cabins are located on the Upper Deck and have windows. Elegantly decorated, they have either twin or queen sized beds and bathrooms with showers en suite. All cabins are fully air-conditioned and offer storage space, radio music controls and telephone.

What's not Included:

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.
  • tips and gratuities
  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
