Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport, you will be met by an airport representative and greeted with your name on a sign upon disembarking from the plane and provide shuttle transfer to passport control. After helping with luggage retrieval, you will escorted to passenger pick up area to meet your Travelous hosts.

Meet and assist provided by your Travelous representative. Transfer in private vehicle with English speaking driver from the Airport to your hotel for overnight.

Day 2
Galilee

Start your day by traveling north to the ancient city of Caesarea built by Herod the Great. Upon arrival into the one time Roman capital, explore the excavations sites of the crusaders' city, and the aqueduct. Admire, the ancient amphitheatre, which has been recently restored as a concert venue. From there, it"s off to Haifa and begin with a panoramic view atop Mt. Carmel, before visiting "AF AL PI CHEN", an old naval museum, created during the time of the British mandate. Next, travel to Acre for a walk along the old harbour area and local market. Our final stop is at Rosh Hanikra, the northernmost point of Israel, where we descend by cable car into the limestone grottoes on the Mediterranean Sea. Your day concludes in the Galilee area for overnight.

Day 3
Galilee

Begin your tour day exploring the northern city of Safed, the center of the Kaballa movement. Here, visit some of the area"s most popular sites including the Joseph Caro, the Ha"Ari synagogues, and the Artist"s quarter. From Safed, we embark on a jeep tour around the foot of Golan, before ascending the Golan Heights where the observation point provides visitors with spectacular views of the surrounding area, including the Syrian city of Kuneitra. The next sightseeing spot is the former Syrian army base at Tel Facher, followed by a visit to the Banias Springs. We end our day by visiting the "Roaring Lion" monument at Tai-Hai, which commemorates the heroic battles of Josef Trumpeldor and his comrades in 1920.

Day 4
Jerusalem

In the morning, we begin our day in the city of Tiberias. Here, we will visit Rambam"s grave, also known as the Tombs of Maimonides, before moving onward to Beit Shean. Also known as the Scythopolis, Beit Shean is the largest archaeological park in Israel and boasts excavations dating back to the Roman and Byzantine periods. A stop is planned at Beit Alpha to see the mosaic floors of this ancient Byzantine synagogue. Continuing on to the Gilboa Mountains to see the Gan Hashlosha water springs, which is the believed location where King Saul was killed in battle with the Philistines. Through the valley of Jordan, we"ll make a stop at Mount Scopus for a traditional blessing, before entering the one of the most important cities in our existence - Jerusalem.

Start your day with a panoramic view of the Old City of Jerusalem from a unique perspective; take the Ramparts walk from the Tower of David to the Dung gate. The walls were commissioned by Ottoman Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent during the 16th century. The Ramparts Walk winds along the top of the walls, affording stunning views of west Jerusalem, several major Old City Christian churches including the Church of the Dormition, a rare glimpse inside the cloistered Armenian Quarter, the Valley of Hinnom, the Judean Desert and more. We"ll then walk through the Jewish Quarter, which was reconstructed after the city was unified after the Six-Day War in 1967. A special point of interest in the restored Jewish Quarter is the "Cardo", meaning the "heart" of this ancient Byzantine City. Then we"ll head to holy Western Wall - the "Kotel" and descend the passageways through the many layers of Jerusalem"s past at the time of the Temple through the Western Wall Tunnels. Inside, a most interesting model shows the different dwelling periods and history of the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Stand on the site believed to be the nearest spot to the "Holy of Holies". We then proceed to the Jewish Quarter, which was reconstructed after the city was unified after the Six-Day War in 1967. At the end the day we will visit at the City of David and see the newest and exciting excavations of Jerusalem during the time of the first Temple period. Here we"ll also walk through Hezekiah"s Tunnel which still flows with water.

Begin your day at Ein Gedi Reserve - a true highlight when touring Israel. Known for its waterfalls, this Oasis in the desert is mentioned several times in the Book of Psalms, and referenced in the biblical stories of King David hiding from King Saul. We continue south to the legendary mountaintop plateau of Masada and ascend by cable car to the ancient fortress. Explore the site with its synagogue and bathhouse. Here, was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure to float in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea - the lowest point on earth.

Jerusalem - Tel Aviv

After breakfast We"ll have a quick stop at the Knesset building where we"ll be able to take pictures in front of the famous Menorah in front of the famed building and visit Yad Vashem considered the primary memorial and museum of the Holocaust. Take a tour of the new Holocaust History Museum, which occupies over 4,200 square meters, mainly underground. At the end of the museum"s historical narrative is the Hall of Names, a repository for the pages of testimony of millions of Holocaust victims, and a memorial to those who perished.Continue to the the Israel Museum with a detailed model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple and the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls.Last stop is the Machane Yehuda Market - Israeli Shook. Enjoy the colors, smells and unique atmosphere of the alleys and stalls, as well as tasting of local products.

Transfer in private vehicle from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.

  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.       In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.       Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.      Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.      Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
