Welcome to Delhi! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who will be holding a sign with your name printed on it. At your hotel, you will receive the traditional Indian welcome with your own garland of flowers and a red tika, placed on your forehead as a traditional sign of respect.

Delhi, India's capital and political hub is an ancient city that has something for everyone! Settled seven times over the centuries, this city has grown in a way that reflects its past, while retaining its cosmopolitan flavor. Delhi showcases unique architecture, profound religion, colorful shopping, vibrant culture; everything is available here and waiting to be discovered!

Enjoy a full day tour of Delhi, starting with a drive past the India Gate (World War I Memorial), The Presidential Palace, Parliament House and the Secretariat buildings - an interesting blend of Victorian and 20th century architecture. Head to old Jama Masjid, - the largest mosque in India and wonder at the magnificent Red Fort (Closed on Monday) - a marvel in red sandstone, built on the banks of River Yamuna by a Mughal Emperor.

Then, enjoy a ride on a pedicab while exploring the streets in the moonlight square, popularly known as "Chandni Chowk". Chandni Chowk offers a colorful insight into Delhi"s life and has a large number of lanes each of which is different, with its own atmosphere. The two main areas you will visit in Chandini Chowk are: "Khari Baoli," the largest wholesale spice market of Asia where you will have a unique experience here viewing the loading and unloading process; ""Kinari Bazaar," is a whole retail market that has tightly packed stalls selling manner of glittering gold and silver trimmings for weddings and festival decorations.

Lunch is planned in Delhi"s famous Olive Bar & Kitchen, a contemporary restaurant offering Mediterranean cuisine. The restaurant is located in the neighborhood of the famous Qutab Minar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, constructed with red sandstone and marble minaret. Finally, visit the mausoleum of emperor Humayun - a forerunner of the Mughal style of architecture.

Drive back to the hotel through Lutyen"s Delhi, the parliament house and the presidential palace.

Your private driver and assitant will meet you at hotel and take you to Delhi airport.The Assistant will help you with check in for the local flight within India. Note: Regular baggage allowance on In country flights is 15-20 Kg per person.

Flight from Delhi to Jabalpur. Duration is 1 hour, 45 minutes.

Transfer in private vehicle with English speaking driver from Jabalpur to Bhandavgarh. Duration is approximately 3 hours.

In the evening, presentations are given by expert naturalists to enhance your knowledge about the life in Bandhaygarh and the surrounding jungles. The lodges also have full libraries with books catering to all aspects of wildlife in India. Thus, you could spend your time relaxing in the resort, curling up with an interesting book between safaris.

The morning safari usually begins 30 minutes before sunrise, so tourists need to wake up early in the morning to reach the entrance gate in time. Here, safaris are done on open safari jeeps and canters. Maximum 06 person are allowed to sit in a safari jeep and 12 tourists are allowed in a safari canter vehicle. Once you enter into the Tiger Reserve, follow all the instructions of your naturalist. It is always advisable to be alert during park safari as the jungle is full of surprises. In the park, every tree, insect, animal, bird is special. Always keep your camera ready with your finger on button as there are no re-takes in this natural habitat.

After the adventure, return back to your lodge for breakfast. Spend your down time relaxing, attending various presentations given to you by naturalist guides or soaking up information in the library.

The Jungle safari is the prominent attraction of any wildlife tour. Throughout the day, two rounds of safari drivers are allowed inside the core-zone of the park. On every Wednesday, the park remains closed for evening safari drives. Here in Bandhavgarh, safari areas are divided into three zones i.e. Tala zone (Gate-1), Magadhi zone (Gate-2) and Khitauli zone (Gate-3). A different zone can be enjoyed each day.

Bandhavgarh National Park, has the highest known density of tigers in India. Other inhabitants of the park include Leopards, the gaur (Indian Bison), chital (spotted deer), sambar deer, dholes, nilgais, wild boars, chinkaras, sloth bears, rhesus macaques, black faced langurs, jungle cats, hyenas, porcupines, jackals, foxes, wild dogs, chausinghas and rattles, among others.

This morning, you will have an approximately 150-mile drive to the Kanha Tiger Reserve. The drive time is around 5 hours.

Situated in central India in the Satpura Hill ranges, Kanha Tiger Reserve is spread over 1216 square miles with a core area of just 588 square miles, and consist mainly of grasslands and deciduous forests. These also support other mammals such as Barasingha, Chital, Muntjac (Swamp, Spotted and Barking Deer), Sambar, Common Langur and Rhesus Monkeys, Wild Boar, Asiatic Jackal, three of India's four lowland antelopes, Nilgai, Four-horned Antelope (Chowsingha) and Blackbuck, and occasionally Leopard, Gaur (Indian Bison), Sloth Bear, Wolf and Dhole (Wild Dog). Birdlife present includes the Painted Partridge, Shaheen Falcon, Golden Oriole and the omnipresent Red Jungle Fowl.

Upon arrival at your lodge, relax and unwind. You have remaining day at leisure.

Rise and shine early to experience the thrill of coming across a tiger roaming freely in the wilderness. On this morning safari you will drive through one of the most beautiful wildlife reserves of Asia. The most striking features of this region are the open grassy meadows, where you can spot blackbuck, swamp deer, sambhar and chital easily. And, try to imagine, a barefooted Mowgli padding along the dusty trail, as this is the land of Rudyard Kipling's Jungle Book.

After this early morning Adventure return back to your Lodge for Breakfast and some R&R time.

Get ready to enjoy the second round of Safari for the day. Enjoy the various wildlife attractions the park has to offer the main ones are Tiger, Bison, Gaur, Barasingha, balckbuck, Jackal and Barking Deer. The park is also natural habitait to many bird species like storks, teals, pintails, pond herons, egrets, peacock, pea fowl, jungle fowl, spur fowl, partridges, quails, ring doves, spotted parakeets, green pigeons, rock pigeons, cuckoos, papihas, rollers, bee-eater, hippos, drongos, warblers, kingfishers, woodpeckers, finches, orioles, owls, and fly catchers. Keep your cameras ready to catch some amazing moments.

This morning you will be taken on a 130 mile drive Jabalpur where you will be assisted with check-in upon arrival.

The city of Jabalpur was the capital of the medieval Gond rulers. It is not only an important historical place, but it is also famous for the Marble Rocks gorge on Narmada River, near it. It is an administrative and educational center and is the gateway to important wildlife sanctuaries around it. It is one of the largest cities in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

This afternoon, you will visit The Rani Durgavati Museum. The museum has a good collection of artifacts and a section dedicated to artifacts and photos related to Mahatma Gandhi. Also visit Bedaghat where the Narmada River makes its way through the Marble Rocks, narrows down and then plunges down, creating a waterfall known as Dhuandhar or the smoke cascade. So powerful is the plunge that its roar is heard from a far distance.

This morning, you will be driven to Satpura where you will be assisted with check in at the lodge.

Satpura National Park is cradled in the Satpura Range (Mahadeo Hills) and straddles the State of Madhya Pradesh. With the adjoining Bori & Panchmarhi Sanctuaries, Satpura provides 551 square miles of unique Central Indian Highland ecosystem cover to India's wild denizens. Satpura is beautiful and unspoiled, truly displaying nature at its very best. The fascinating deep valleys, high mountains, waterfalls and Tawa's vast reservoir combine give this park a unique beauty. The terrain is extremely rugged and consists of sandstone peaks, narrow gorges, ravines and dense forests.

Satpura National park is a great place for people who like to avoid crowds. Here, one can do jeep, elephant, walking & boat safaris. The unspoiled Highland eco-system of Satpura National Park is unique in nature.

The safari begins from crossing the Denwa river by boat. Upon reaching the shore, spend some time with spotted deers, blue bull & Chousingha babies etc. Feel free to get close and touch them.

Once all the formalities will be completed, take the safari jeep with guide & driver and begin the game drive. No-one is allowed to get down from vehicle except at view points where visitors or the Elephant & Lagda camp.

After lunch, the jeep safari continues..Satpura Forest is home to 50 mammal species, 254 bird species & 30 species of reptiles. The Tiger, Gaur, Leopard, Indian Giant Squirrel, Sambar, Sloth Bear, Chital, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Rhesus Monkey, Langur, Nilgai, Hyena, Wild Dogs, Smooth Otter, Pangolin, Porcupine, Marsh Crocodile, Ratel, Four Horned Antelope and more.. Birds are everywhere. Birding enthusiats should look out for the Malabar Pied Hornbills, Crested Serpent Eagles, Crested Hawk Eagles, Honey Buzzards, Paradise Flycatchers, Pittas, Thrushes, Peafowl, & Pheasants as they fill the air with their calls.

The Claridges

Taj Mahua Kothi

The name Mahua Kothi draws its inspiration from one of India's most beautiful trees, the Madhuca Indica, or as it is commonly known, the Mahua or butter tree. Pronounced 'ma-hoo-a', this tree with its fleshy off-white flowers plays a central role in festivals and rituals. The Lodge sprawls over the 40 acre grounds, just 20 minutes from the park entrance. The original kothi (homestead) comprises of the guest areas and have been beautifully renovated.

Each of the twelve charming guest suites - or kutiyas (jungle village huts) - are built in the vernacular style of Central India. Each is accessed through private courtyards with shaded seating and traditional mud floors. Interiors include wooden shutters, tapered mud coloured walls in lime and earth washes (finished by hand), open rafters with roughly hewn wooden beams, and handmade pottery roof tiles. Floors are dressed in katni stone strips set in lime mortar. Each ensuite bathroom features twin hand basins, indoor shower, bath and separate w.c. Each kutiya features roll-down mats to keep out the early morning sun, as well as overhead fans and air conditioning.

On the edge of the Banjaar River, peacefully overlooking Kanha National Park on the opposite bank, sits Banjaar Tola, a Taj Safari Lodge. Kanha is one of the best maintained National Parks in India and the best way to experience the wonder and majesty of this prime wildlife reserve is via the legendary hospitality of this Taj Safari Lodge. The Banjaar Tola lodge and suites epitomize the design mastery of Sanjay Prakash, a renowned environmental architect who is deeply committed to energy-conscious architecture, eco-friendly design and community participation in planning. This lodge was built with standards that maximize the positive impacts on the local environment with a minimum ecological footprint, while still providing the ultimate style and comfort. Lodges are not operational from 1st July onwards till 15th October, as the national parks are closed due to monsoons.

The lightweight tents have been designed in a contemporary, chic camping style using locally sourced sustainable materials. Each tented suite features bamboo floors, a canvas roof and walls, and glass doors leading out onto a spacious deck overlooking beautiful views of the river. Interiors showcase the rich block-printed cottons and silk handwork that is native to Madhya Pradesh. Woven textiles in shades of bleached saffron, forest greens and earthy cinnamon surround guests in the colours and textures of the region. Conservation efforts at Banjaar Tola start from the ground up; each suite is set on raised structures, supporting the tent at only seven points on the ground, allowing natural growth and drainage under all the buildings. Instead of conventional electrical units, the tents are designed with double layers of canvas with insulation materials and air gaps to keep them cool. In winter, hot water for the bathroom is piped under the insulated bamboo floor. The eco-friendly air conditioning system uses a reversible cycle to efficiently deliver both cooling and heating. Taj Hotels has reinvented the safari tradition with an earth-friendly experience that"s also unforgettably luxurious.

The Jackson's hotel dates back to the colonial British Raj era in the nineteenth century. Owned and managed by the British during pre - independence days, the Jacksons is currently owned and managed by the Indo Canadian promoters - The Jasuja Group. The Hotel has been thoroughly renovated and modernized to aid ultra - modern amenities to give this heritage property its new image and Name - Narmada Jacksons.

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
