Day 1

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who will be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Your representative will escort you to the hotel and assist you with check-in.

The culturally and architecturally rich Kathmandu stands at an elevation of approximately 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) in the bowl-shaped Kathmandu Valley of central Nepal. It lies at the crossroads of ancient civilizations of Asia and is known as the "City of Temples" because of its numerous and unique temples. The city has a profound history, spanning nearly 2000 years, as inferred from inscriptions found in the valley. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu.

(Note:Tourist Visa can be obtained upon arrival at the airport)

You will first visit Swayambhunath, a temple and monastery, which is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. It is also known as the Monkey Temple because of the holy monkeys that live there. Swayambhunath is situated amidst a beautiful natural scenario on the top of a hill, offering a generous panorama of the peaceful city.

You will then be taken to Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Boudhhanath Stupa. These most visited touristic sites offer an authentic representation of Nepalese culture, arts and daily life. In the Pashupatinath Temple, you will find one of the greatest Shiva sites and a Hindu shrine, visitors will have the opportunity to observe different ceremonies and specific rituals of Hindu worship. The most intriguing scene is the cremation area on the banks of the river, next to the temple where visitors can witness a Hindu burial ceremony.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is the next stop. You will be able to enjoy the intricate Newa architecture, used by the indigenous Newari people Kathmandu. The Square is a place of living history in the heart of the ever-modernizing Kathmandu.

The last place you will explore is the Bauddhanath Stupa where you will be amazed by the rich symbolisms found in this famous Tibetan Community and traditional Buddhist temple complex.

Day 2

Start your morning off early with a perfect introduction into Nepal with a Mountain flight. Take-off from Kathmandu airport in the early morning for an hour's worth of spectacular scenery. The Mountain flight is suitable for all travelers. For those who are restricted by time from going trekking can get panoramic view of the Himalayas. Continue the day on the ground exploring Nepal's capital city of Kathmandu.

In the morning you will be picked up by our driver and personal guide at your hotel. We will start today"s sightseeing tour in one of the three Kingdom cities; Bhaktapur. After a 45 minute drive on the newly opened highway between Kathmandu and Bhaktapur we will arrive in the UNESCO World Heritage City.

Bhaktapur still has the appearance of a medieval city and it may give you an impression of what Europe may have looked like centuries ago. Bhaktapur is home to the traditional Newari culture. In Bhaktapur we will visit beautiful buildings such as the royal palace with its golden door, Nepal's highest temple, the five story high nyatapola, potters' square, where the people still make pottery in the traditional way and many, many more attractions. Bhaktapur will stimulate all your senses and will leave you with an incomparable impression.

Before driving to Changu Narayan we will enjoy lunch in the historic centre of Bhaktapur.

After lunch we continue to Changu Narayan. In this temple, examples of stone, wood and metal crafts can be seen. The temple is a symbol of the religion and faith of Kathmandu valley and plays an important religious role. The major attraction in this temple is the Vishnu image with ten heads and arms.

Apart from the religious value of this site, due to its location on a Hill Top, Changyu Narayan also offers great views on Bhaktapur, Kathmandu and on clear days the Himalaya range.

Day 3

In the morning you will be picked-up at your hotel by our driver and guide. We drive for about 20 minutes till we reach the Budhanilkantha Temple which is 8 kilometres north of Kathmandu. This temple is famous for the pond with a large statue of the reclining Vishnu. From Budhanilkantha uphill till the gates of the Shivapuri National Park.

This is an unique government protected forest where over 500 species of animals are found. We start our hike from the southern boundary of the area where the army check post is located. Nagi Gumpa situated at an altitude of 2330 m north of Kathmandu and above Budhanilkantha Temple is only Monastery for the Nuns practice Buddhists and many foreigners often come there for meditation. It is a steep uphill hike through narrow and dusty trail and gradual uphill trial to Shivapuri. After lunch and strolling around from sometime, we take a short cut down hill trail to Kopan for about two hours and drive back to Kathmandu.

Shivapuri situated at an altitude of 2563m north of Kathmandu is second highest hill around Kathmandu valley. Baghdwar, Shivapuri locates near source of holy river Bagmati.

Day 4
Kathmandu

Spend the day touring a more peaceful side of Kathmandu, with round-trip transportation from your city center hotel.

You will be picked up in the morning by your driver and personal guide. We will start exploring Kathmandu by visiting the spectacular Patan Durbar Square, also known as Lalitpur Durbar Square. Patan Durbar Square is home to the former Patan Royal Family. The most photographed of Kathmandu"s 3 Durbar Squares, it features a remarkable display of Newari architecture and its main attractions include the Krishna Temple, with its 21 golden pinnacles; Rudra Varna Mahavihar; the Buddhist Monastery, which houses the local treasures; and the central courtyard of Mul Chowk.

From Patan, we drive southeast to the countryside village of Lhubu. Translated as "Golden Plate," Lhubu is a small village that boasts a rich cultural history. Explore the village and meet the local people, renowned for their weaving skills. Walking through the village, you will see some of them at work, before passing the Maha Laxmi Temple, said to house the mother of the Goddess Maha Laxmi.

From Lubhu, continue to Godawari. On the way you will stop at a restaurant to enjoy lunch in a lovely rural setting.

Located at the foothills of the 9,154-foot (2,791-meter) Pulchowki Hill, the highest hill of the Kathmandu Valley,lies the lush green Botanical Garden. Home to various types of landscapes and plants, visit the Desert House, Tropical House, Rock Garden and many more stunning areas, providing a perfect final break from the bustling streets of Kathmandu.

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.
  • tips and gratuities
  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
