Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who will be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Your guide will escort you to your hotel in Negombo in a private, air-conditioned vehicle and assist you with check-in.

Leave Negombo and journey into the heart of the Knuckles Mountain Range, to your campsite. you will cover a distance of 171Kms and drive time is about 3 tours through the mountains and small villages.

After settling in, take a three to four-hour trek through the villages, which surround Sphinx Eyrie. This trek though forest paths and village trails brings you through the rich foliage of the Knuckles Range with utterly breathtaking views of the valley as the backdrop.

Today"s trek will take you to a small Sri Lankan village, which is only accessible by foot. You will trek for approximately four hours through scrub jungle and forests, bringing you to the little farming village of Meemure, deep in the Knuckles Valley. The trek is through rough trails and a few streams need to be forded en route.

Break at the little village shop for a cup of hot tea, sweetened with "juggery", made of coconut sap. After a short break, explore this remote village. You will see and appreciate the simplicity of life enjoyed by its people. Refresh yourself in the cool mountain water of the stream that crosses through the village.

You will continue trekking for three hours, heading out of the valley and back to your campsite.

Kirstenbosch - Kitulgala

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the town of Kitulgala by vehicle.The drive is around 2 and half hours through a lush green Tropical forest.

In the afternoon, you will trek through the spectacular Kelani Valley Forest Reserve. After crossing a suspension bridge, you will enter the forest. Proceed through the dense forest cover emerging for short spells to walk along the bank of the swift Kelani River. The rainforest-like surroundings will amaze you a variety of birds and colorful butterflies come to rest in the surrounding trees and foliage.

Day 5
Adam's Peak

After breakfast we will drive to Adam's Peak where a exciting adventure awaits you.

Embark on an adrenaline-fuelled adventure down the rapids of the Kelani River. This short but exhilarating excursion is a level 03 rafting and is suitable for most people between the ages of 12 and 65 years.

You will then have an early dinner and evening at leisure in preparation for tomorrow"s hike up to Adam"s Peak.

You will then have some time to rest after the trek and breakfast and then you will be transferred to the beautiful beaches of Bentota.

Today you will have an exhilarating adventure, hiking up Adam"s Peak.

Begin the climb at approximately 2:00 am. Trek through the night in order to reach the summit by dawn to witness a once in a lifetime sunrise.

The pilgrim season for Adams peak is December to May. During this time thousands of pilgrims climb to the summit every night. The pathway is lit and the experience is a cultural treat. Pilgrims chant prayers as they climb barefooted and clad in white attire. Small kiosks precariously perched on the mountain cliffs will be selling hot buns and tea. During the rest of the year, the pathway is not lit and there are no pilgrims, however the beauty, serenity and adventure of Adam"s Peak remain.

After an incredible sunrise with a panoramic view of the valleys below, you will descend the peak and return to the guesthouse for a hot breakfast.

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.
  • tips and gratuities
  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
