Welcome to Lima International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by your local Travelous representative who be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Transfer in private vehicle with English speaking driver from the Airport to your hotel for overnight.

Enjoy a tour of colonial and modern Lima as you visit diverse touristic sites. Your day begins with a visit to Main Square where the Government Palace is located. After exploring this area, an unforgettable visit to Lima's splendid Colonial Cathedral will follow. The Cathedral contains 14 stunning side chapels as well as the tomb of Francisco Pizarro, the Spanish conquistador of Peru. The tour continues with a visit to San Francisco Church and Monastery which display the finest examples of high Spanish Baroque dating back to 1629. The complex was built over underground catacombs, which were used as cemeteries during colonial times.

A visit to the residential areas of San Isidro, with attractive city parks such as El Olivar, as well as a visit to Miraflores, a modern district with lush gardens, bustling avenues, chic cafes and restaurants will culminate the tour. Return transfer back to hotel provided.

Day 3
Lima - Cusco

Transfer in private vehicle with English speaking escort to Lima airport.

Upon arrival at the Cusco Airport, transfer in private vehicle with full assistance to your hotel.

In the early afternoon, enjoy a private city tour of Cusco city and its surrounding ruins. This captivating city tour begins with a visit to Cusco's Main Square, known in Inca times as "Huyacaypata" or "The Warrior's Square." This was the location of key political and cultural events in Cusco's history. The next stop is the great Cathedral, which was built between 1560 and 1664 with large stones of red granite taken from the Inca Fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Next, tour the gold-plated Korikancha Temple, the most important temple dedicated to sun worship. Afterwards, continue to the ruins above Cusco: Kenko, Pucapucara, Tambomachay and the Sacsayhuaman Fortress, an imposing example of Inca military architecture.

Day 4
Lares Trail

We will leave Cusco towards Lares at around 5:00am by bus. During this trip we will pass several archaeological sites and handcraft markets in the Sacred Valley. In the province of Calca (2940m/9646f) we will head for the Huaca Casi Pass (4400m/14436f) and then descend to Lares Hot Springs (3200m/ 10499f). Here we will have some time to relax in the pools of between 28 and 36 degrees C/ 82 and 97 degrees F. Following lunch we will continue our journey towards Huacawasi (3600m/11811f), where our first campsite is situated.

Hiking time: 3-4 hours

Day 5
Lares Trail

The second day is possibly one of the most scenic. After breakfast we will start a 4 hour hike up to the Ipsay Pass (4400m/14436f). Up there we will visit some rural families that live from traditional agriculture and textiles.Afterwards we will head down to the village of Patacancha (3650m/11975f), where we will find our campsite.

Hiking time: 6-7 hours

Day 6
Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes)

The third day is spectacular: we will visit several communities and indigenous towns such as Willoq (3400m/11156f), Pumamarca (3200m/10499f) and Ollantaytambo (2850m/9350f), the latter is considered to be the last citadel of the Incas, constructed according to Incan architecture. From Ollantaytambo we will take the train to Aguas Calientes (2050m/6726f), where we will spend the night in a hotel.

Climate: moderate warm
Hiking time: approx. 6 hours

Day 7
Cusco

We will leave our hotel at 5:30am and head for Machu Picchu (2400m/7874f) by tourist bus. We will arrive at the citadel around 6:00am. After a guided tour around the archaeological site, including information about life and culture of the Incas, you will have enough time to enjoy Machu Picchu and Wayna Picchu (2750m/9022f) on your own. We will leave Aguas Calientes by train in the afternoon. Until then you will have time to have lunch in one of the local restaurants or visit the hot springs in Aguas Calientes to relax a little bit.

A private guide will greet you at Lima airport and your final tour of Lima will begin upon arrival.

The Museum showcases remarkable chronological galleries that provide an excellent overview of 3000 years of development of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. Located in a unique vice-royal mansion of the 18th century, built over a 7th century pre-Columbian pyramid, it is surrounded by beautiful gardens.   • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
