Day 2
Dubai

A fascinating historical excursion; our route takes us from Burj Al Arab, Dubai"s landmark hotel to Majlis Al Ghorfat, a magnificent structure constructed in 1955 and recently restored. The Majlis was originally the summer residence of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al-Maktoum. Driving past modern palaces, we stop at the Jumeirah Mosque for a photo opportunity. Our route then takes us towards Dubai's Bastakia area to admire the old-wind-towered houses which were built by wealthy merchants, passing the magnificent Zabeel Palace on the way. Further on, we visit the Al Fahidi Fort, a 200-year-old structure that houses the Dubai Museum and records the city"s past as an important pearl diving and trading center. We continue our journey on a traditional abra, across the Creek, offering sights of a modern metropolis, with splendid architecture on its banks, dwarfing the bustling alleys of our next destination - the gold and spice souks.

Day 4
Amman - Petra

Begin your day exploring Jordan's capital city - Amman. The visit will include the fascinating Roman Theater, Nymphaeum, and the enchanting Citadel, which has stood since the ancient times of the Ammonites. For a more exotic and traditional experience, you will walk through the ''Souq'', taking in the traditional sights and smells of the spice market, while shop for authentic souvenirs.

Madaba Best known for its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, Madaba is home to the famous 6th century Mosaic Map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land. With two million pieces of vividly colored local stone, it depicts hills and valleys, villages and towns as far as the Nile Delta. The Madaba Mosaic Map covers the floor of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, which is located northwest of the city centre. The church was built in 1896 AD, over the remains of a much earlier 6th century Byzantine church. The mosaic panel enclosing the Map was originally around 15.6 X 6m, 94 square meters, only about a quarter of which is preserved.

Continue to visit Mount Nebo, the mountaintop memorial of Moses with captivating views of the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and The River Jordan. A small Byzantine church was built there by early Christians, which has been expanded into a vast complex. During his visit to Jordan in 2001, the Late Pope John Paul II held a sermon here that was attended by some 20,000 faithful.

Drive through the Kings Highway to Petra for Dinner & overnight. On the way to Petra, you will stop at Mujib View point and Dana View point for some photo beautiful photo opportunities. Driving time is 3 hours.

Day 5
Petra - Dead Sea Jordan

The wonder of Petra is without a doubt, Jordan's most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction. It is a vast, unique city, carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabateans; an industrious Arab people who settled here more than 2000 years ago. It was turned into an important junction for the silk, spice and other trade routes that linked China, India and southern Arabia with Egypt, Syria, Greece and Rome.

Entrance to the city is through the Siq, a narrow gorge, over 1 kilometer in length flanked on either side by soaring, 80 meters high cliffs. Just walking through the Siq is an experience in itself. The colors and formations of the rocks are dazzling. As you reach the end of the Siq you will catch your first glimpse of Al-Khazneh (Treasury). This is an awe-inspiring experience. A massive facade, carved out of the sheer, dusky pink, rock-face and dwarfing everything around it. It was carved in the early 1st century as the tomb of an important Nabatean king and represents the engineering genius of these ancient people.

The Treasury is just the first of the many wonders that make up Petra. You will need at least four or five days to really explore everything here. As you enter the Petra valley you will be overwhelmed by the natural beauty of this place and its outstanding architectural achievements. There are hundreds of elaborate rock-cut tombs with intricate carvings - unlike the houses, which were destroyed mostly by earthquakes, the tombs were carved to last throughout the afterlife and 500 have survived, empty but bewitching as you file past their dark openings. Here, also is a massive Nabatean-built, Roman-style theatre, seating 3,000 people. There are obelisks, temples, sacrificial altars & colonnaded streets, and high above, overlooking the valley, is the impressive Ad-Deir Monastery - a flight of 800 rock cut steps takes you there.

Transfer in private vehicle from Petra to the Dead Sea. Driving time is approximately 3.5 hours.
