Welcome to Israel! Upon arrival at Ben Gurion International Airport, you will be met by an airport representative and greeted with your name on a sign upon disembarking from the plane and provide shuttle transfer to passport control. After helping with luggage retrieval, you will escorted to passenger pick up area to meet your Travelous hosts.

Meet and assist provided by your Travelous representative. Transfer in private vehicle with English speaking driver from the Airport to your hotel for overnight.

Next visit the spiritually moving Independence Hall, taking a step back in time to listen to David Ben Gurion"s moving Declaration of Independence which ended 2,000 years of Jewish yearning for a return to the land of their originSpend your afternoon with a Walking tour along Rothschild Boulevard and the various neighborhoods of this unique city. Tel Aviv was developed as a metropolitan city under the British Mandate in Palestine and was planned by Sir Patrick Geddes. End the day at the "Palmach Museum" where, through a modern i-media presentation, you find yourself immersed in the significant cultural moments such as the War of Independence and the establishment of the State of Israel. After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv"s new hip neighborhood where the intellectual elite lived during Israel"s early days. Also see the newly renovated Tachana (old train station) which is now a beautiful modern area for shops and restaurants. Continue on to thefamous open air colorful craft market in Nachalat Binyamin and experience modern Tel Aviv in action.In the afternoon prepare to "get dirty" as you participate in an archaeological dig under the twin cities of Tel Maresha and Beit Guvrin. Located in the Judean lowlands, this national park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and known as the Land of a thousand caves inhabited from the Greek, Roman and Arabian periods. On this excursion, you"ll discover articfacts from the time of the Maccabees and gain an appreciation for the work of an archaeologist!

Start your day by traveling north to the ancient city of Caesarea built by Herod the Great. Upon arrival into the one time Roman capital, explore the excavations sites of the crusaders' city, and the aqueduct. Admire, the ancient amphitheatre, which has been recently restored as a concert venue. From there, it"s off to Haifa and begin with a panoramic view atop Mt. Carmel and the Bahai Gardens, before visiting "AF AL PI CHEN", an old naval museum, created during the time of the British mandate. Next, travel to Acre - an ancient crusador city and UNESCO World Heritage site - for a walk along the old harbour area and local market. End off your day by traveling north to the Galilee area for your overnight.

Start your day with an exciting 4x4 jeep ride tour of the Golan Heights, enjoying its physical beauty with its scenic hills, and learn the strategic importance and history of the land. Afterwards, satisfy your sweet tooth with a visit to the De Karina chocolate factory. Spend the rest of your day enjoying Luna Gal Water Park at the Golan Beach on the Sea of Galilee. One of Israel's leading attractions, Luna Gal has something for the whole family and a great way to cool off in the summer.

Your tour day begins at the Mystical City of Safed (the birthplace of Kabbalah). Stroll through the narrow, winding alley"s, visit some of the beautiful synagogues and browse through the artists" workshops and galleries found in the flourishing artists' quarter. Continue on to Mount Gilboa, which is located on a ridge above the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel. The Gilboa range is the setting in the Books of Samuel for the battle between King Saul and the Philistines. Ascend up the Judean Mountains and upon arriving in Jerusalem, stop at a viewpoint overlooking the Old City where you shall celebrate your arrival with a special She'hecheyanu ceremony, a blessing used to offer thanks for new and unusual experiences.

Begin your day at Ein Gedi Reserve - a true highlight when touring Israel. Known for its waterfalls, this Oasis in the desert is mentioned several times in the Book of Psalms, and referenced in the biblical stories of King David hiding from King Saul. We continue south to the legendary mountaintop plateau of Masada and ascend by cable car to the ancient fortress. Explore the site with its synagogue and bathhouse. Here, was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their struggle against the Romans. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon at leisure to float in the buoyant waters of the Dead Sea - the lowest point on earth.

The Night Spectacular is a 45-minute light-and-sound display using the walls beneath the Tower of David as a backdrop. The moving images, sent from 20 projectors and two projection rooms, tell a wordless, politically neutral pictorial tale of the history of Jerusalem from the time of the Israelite kings down almost to the present day, treating viewers to dramatically larger-than-life reenactments of the deeds of David, the Romans, the monks, Muhammad, the Crusaders, Suleiman the Magnificent and the rest of the historical family.The sound and light show in Jerusalem is a definite highlight for any first time traveler.

Join the "underground" at the Ayalon Institute, where a once-secret munitions factory existed during the Mandate Period under Britain. Next, it"s off to the Latrun Armored Museum, to be given a tour by an Israeli soldier. Learn about the road to Jerusalem and the battles relating to this corridor. This is a great picture opportunity with the tanks of the IDF from all their wars. In the afternoon, continue to the outskirts of Jerusalem with a Jewish tradition in Israel of Tree Planting. Returning to the city, travel back in time and take an exciting theme park style tour in the Time Elevator. Ride through the different ages of Jerusalem and learn about the people who inhabited and ruled over this ancient city.

In the morning you will make make your way to the Old City and head for the Southern Wall Excavations. Here, we include a visit to the Davidson Center, one of the most significant archeological sites in the country.

By Robinsons Arch we will hold the Barmitzvah Ceremony (must be pre-booked). Under the direction of the Conservative Movement, this site is at the Southern Steps of the Temple. One major benefit of this site is the fact that men and women are allowed to be together. It is also logistically easy for all your guests to get to. There is no cost if you arrive before 9AM, but a donation will be required. Shading "tents" are set up in various places to protect the participants from the sun. While this is a magnificent site to have your Simcha, the site is always very busy and there is no "rain alternative" as the space is open air.

Next, descend through the many layers of Jerusalem"s past at the time of the Temple through the Western Wall Tunnels. Inside, a most interesting model shows the different dwelling periods and history of the inhabitants of Jerusalem. Walk through the Jewish Quarter, which was reconstructed after the city was unified after the Six-Day War in 1967. A special point of interest in the restored Jewish Quarter is the "Cardo", meaning the "heart" of this ancient Byzantine City. View the unearthed main Roman thoroughfare and ancient marketplace lined with columns.

The celebration continues with a drive through the hills of Judea to the "Land of Genesis". Here, "Abraham" and his family who will host you for a biblical-style dinner in their tent, to celebrate a unique and exciting Bar Mitzvah Party! This unusual location will appeal to both adults and children alike as they reenact their favorite characters from the Bible.

Begin your day with a guided tour of Yad Vashem, the primary memorial and museum of the Holocaust. From there we embark on a food tasting within the Machne Yahuda market known as Shuk Bites. In the afternoon, continue to Kol Haot; an educational and interactive art program in Jerusalem.   • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation

  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
