Day 1
Luxor

Welcome to the Port of Safaga in Egypt! Upon dismbarkation, you will be met by your Travelous representative and English speaking driver who will be on call throughout your entire stay. Transfer in private vehicle to Luxor to begin your tour. Duration approximately 4 hours.{ Luxor, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has frequently been characterized as the "world's greatest open air museum", as the ruins of the temple complexes at Karnak and Luxor stand within the modern city. Immediately opposite, across the River Nile lie the monuments, temples and tombs on the West Bank Necropolis, which include the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens. Archeologically speaking, Luxor is the most important site in all of Egypt and a rare gem of a city that is unlike any other city in the world.

Your private tour day takes you through the East Bank of the Nile to visit the Temples of Luxor and Karnak, largely the work of Amenhotep III and Ramesses II, whose colossi and obelisk stand at the entrance. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinx as you enter the complex while your guide explains how the massive facade was constructed and explore the Karnak Open Air Museum that features an amazing array of statuary and reconstructed temple structures.

Enjoy an exciting evening activity by taking in a Sound and Light show highlighting the dramatic history of Ancient Thebes. The show is narrated in English and projected on the walls of Karnak Temple.

Day 2
Luxor - Safaga

Visit the Valley of the Kings where you will see the intact royal tombs of the Pharaohs. Then, visit the Tombs of Princes in the Valley of the Queens. Stop at the magnificent temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El-Bahri and then make your way towards the immense Colossi of Memnon. The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. For the past 3,400 years, they have stood in the Theban necropolis, across the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor. Your last stop will be at the Theban Necropolis, which was used for ritual burials for much of pharaonic times.

Unfortunately, we say goodbye to you today. Transfer in private vehicle with full assistance from your hotel in Luxor to the port of Safaga to continue your cruise. Keep the memories alive and we hope to see you in Egypt again soon. Stay Travelous!

The stunning, colossal monuments of Ancient Egypt never fail to astonish. The heat, sight and the light of the desert invigorate. The cool, turquoise waters rejuvenate. A romantic cruise along the world's longest river dazzles the senses. A first class getaway resort in the Red Sea Riviera is pure escapism. No place has the magic, mystery and pleasures of Egypt. Travel to Egypt to discover a world of wonder and a history dating back more than 5000 years.
