Today, explore Madrid on a guided walking tour through the old quarters, known as Madrid de los Austrias (Habsburg dynasty), where you will visit the impressive Plaza Mayor. Walk down the stairs of Arch of Cuchilleros and the winding streets and alleys around Plaza de la Villa, core of medieval Madrid where you will see the oldest buildings, House and Tower of Lujares, where the French King Francois I was made prisoner by Spanish King Carlos V. Discover the House of Cisneros, of early renaissance style and Casa de la Villa, former City Hall until 2007. Then, visit great neoclassic building of the Cathedral of Almudena, ending your tour in the beautiful Plaza de Oriente, where the Royal Palace is located.

Afterwards, visit the inside of the impressive Royal Palace, former residence of the Spanish Kings. Admire the official Reception rooms, the Museum area, the Royal Chapel, the Throne Room and the private rooms of King Carlos III and Queen Isabel II.

Portugal's capital city is a treasure trove of history and architecture, a surfer's paradise and a foodies mecca. Despite its size and stature, Lisbon has held onto its old-world charm and relaxed southern pace.

Your tour will take you to the Jeronimos Monastery, a monumental testimony to the Portuguese discoveries. Visit the tomb of Vasco da Gama and Luis de Camoes. Afterwards, head to the Tower of Belem, which was strategically built on the north bank of the Tagus river, between 1514 and 1520, to protect the bar of Lisbon. Lastly, we visit The Monument of Discoveries. Originally erected in 1941 for the Portuguese World Exhibition to celebrate the main players in the Portuguese discoveries.

Today you will go to Sintra, a World Heritage site known as "Lord Byron's Glorious Eden". Sintra was used as a retreat by the Romans, the Moors and the Portuguese Kings due to its position, beauty, wooden ravines and fresh springs. The Cabo da Roca, the most western point of continental Europe is a must see. On the way back we discover Cascais and Estoril and complete the ever so beautiful golden triangle.

Douro Valley Quinta do Vallado

Quinta do Vallado, established in 1716, is one of the oldest and most famous "Quintas" in the Douro Valley. It once belonged to the legendary Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira, and still belongs to her descendants. For almost 200 years, Quinta do Vallado's main activity was the production of Porto wines. Since 2005, Quinta do Vallado has been hosting guests in the renowned Wine Hotel. The estate has a stunning swimming pool and offers iple activities such as walks, bicycle rides, boat trips, fishing sessions, picnics, cooking classes and wine tastings.

  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
