Day 1
Tayrona Park

A private vehicle and guide will accompany you to El Parque Nacional Tayrona.

Tayrona National Park park sits at the edge of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range, the highest costal mountain range in the world, stretching over 35 miles from Santa Marta in the West to Rio Piedras in the East. The National Park is everything you could want from a picture perfect postcard beach location. This tropical beach paradise has a backdrop of lush green rain forest set against calm turquoise seas. There are numerous paths that link the various beaches and bays, which make perfect walking trails to while away the days in paradise. This is an amazing place to sit back and relax, saunter down the beach and jungle trails and spot the local wildlife.

Day 2
Santa Marta - Tayrona Park

Set out to El Parque Nacional Tayrona early in the morning while the park is quiet and the stunning beaches are deserted.

The walk to the spectacular Cabo San Juan beach is about two and a half hours through jungle and desert. Here, you can sit under hanging palms and watch the waves roll up to the golden sort. Horseback riding to the beach can be arranged as an alternative to the long hike.

Look out for members of the Kogi tribe who still live in the park, leading a tranquil life in their untouched village. As you walk, your guide will be on hand to explain not only the culture and history of the park but provide information about the wildlife that you may see on the way.

Day 3
Tayrona Park

Enjoy a day at leisure in your stunning hotel. Villa Maria Tayrona is situated in a park just outside the Tayrona National Park. Its beach and trails boast the same quality as the beaches and trails in the park -with a quieter feel. If the morning is clear, you can see the snowy peaks of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta from most huts in Villa Maria Tayrona.

Take a dip in the pool or at the private Los Naranjos Beach, the day is yours!

Colombia is an amazing land of contrasts and after being off the wish list for several years it is rapidly becoming one of the highlights of South America. With its rich cultural history, amazing architecture, geographical diversity and the simple warmth and hospitality of its people it"s easy to see why this fascinating country is becoming an increasingly popular spot for overseas visitors. Located in the North West of the continent sharing borders with Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, Colombia is the 4th largest country in South America.

It"s the only South American country to boast two coast lines on the Pacific and Atlantic (Caribbean) oceans it also shares Amazonian rain forest with Brazil and Peru also Los llanos or vast plains area with Venezuela. Three ranges of the Andean mountains run from the south to the north of the country.

With its pre Colonial, Colonial and Republican history Colombia has a wealth of cultural attractions. Nature and wildlife abound in its diverse landscapes and the spirit and warmth of the Colombian people will ensure your Colombian experience will be one that lingers on long after your return home.

Villa Maria Tayrona

Villa Maria Tayrona is a real wild jungle location. The 45-acre property was bought in 2003, taking ten years to develop a hotel space in the raw jungle. The original colonial house is two hundred years old, and it was preserved as much as possible with the original plan and walls. A suspension bridge connects the Villas to the restaurant and allows guests to avoid a longer walk on the stone path (make sure to visit the Indian stone idol set in a giant rock).

Rooms are truly unique, each one giving you its own experience, only possible at Villa Maria. The Villa offers an option for all tastes and styles. This room made of bamboo provides a lovely feeling of nature and gives you a pleasant stay with air conditioning, hot water, queen size bed and private bathroom.
