Welcome to Athens International Airport (also Eleftherios Venizelos). A Travelous representative awaits your arrival at passenger pick up holding a sign with your name printed on it. Private transfer provided by English speaking driver to your hotel.

Athens

After breakfast, meet with your private certified Travelous tour guide and embark on your panoramic tour of Athens; the capital of Greece and the birthplace of Democracy and Philosophy. Pass by the Constitution Square (Syntagma), the Parliament, Tomb of Unknown Soldier guarded by Evzones in their colorful uniforms, the Academy, the University and the National library. On the way to Acropolis pass by Hadrian's Arch, Temple of Olympian Zeus and stop at Panathenian Stadium, where the first Modern Olympic Games were held in 1896. Continue to Acropolis (Ancient City). and admire the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and the Parthenon "the harmony between material and spirit", the monument that "puts order in mind". Continue with a private tour of the new Acropolis Museum, a modern architectural building housing the most important statues from Acropolis and admire the wonders of the classical era (Mondays closed). After your City Tour, you will enjoy lunch in Plaka area leaving you the afternoon to explore the Ancient market before returning to your hotel.

Olympia

Leave by the coastal road to the Corinth Canal (short photo stop) before continuing on to visit the Theatre of Epidauros, famous for its remarkable acoustics. Then proceed to the town of Nafplion (short photo stop), on route to Mycenae; the famous Archaeological Site and Tomb of Agamemnon. Our journey continues through the Central Peloponnese and with stops in the towns of Tripolis and Megalopolis before reaching Olympia for overnight; the birthplace of the Olympic Games.

This morning, enjoy a day tour of Olympia - Home to the Atlis (Sanctuary of the Gods), the site was a mecca for ancient Greeks who came here to worship Zeus. Your tour involves such historical site as: the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. In the afternoon, we drive on through the plains of Eliad and Achaia, cross the Corinthian Bay from Rion to Antirion, pass by the picturesque Towns of Nafpactos and Itea, before arriving in Delphi for the night.

Kalambaka

Today, you have the honor to experience one of the most historical places in Greek history - Delphi. Surrounded by the breathtaking mythical mountains of Mt. Parnassus, lies the town of Delphi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Deemed by Zeus as the center of Grandmother Earth (Gaia), Delphi is home to the mythological Oracle and the story of Pythia (Priestess of the Oracle). Explore such sites as the Temple of Apollo and the Archaeological Museum which houses the Charioteer of Delphi and the Sphinx of Naxos. In the afternoon, transfer in private vehicle to Kalambaka - a small town situated at the foot of the astonishing Meteora Monastery.

Athens

Among striking scenery, perched on top of huge rocks seemingly suspended in mid-air, stands the ageless Monasteries of Meteora (in the heavens above). Built in the 14 th Century, these six man-made wonders are built upon natural sandstone rock pillars with an average elevation of over 1000 feet (310 meters). Access to the monasteries are accessible by staircases cut into the rock formations. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is here you can see exquisite specimens of Byzantine Art. Return to Athens via Trikala, Lamia, Thermopylae (see the Leonida"s monument).

Your evening begins with a short panoramic drive through the City Center and up to Mount Lycabettus for a panoramic view of Athens. At the slope of the sacred hill you will be able to see, admire and photo the illuminated Acropolis. Next you will visit the Museum and discover the divine origin of Ancient Greek musical instruments and explore the hidden paradise of Ancient Greek music history and its sounds. Afterwards, enjoy a pleasant walk through the narrow picturesque streets of Plaka - the old city; which will bring you to a Traditional Greek Tavern for dinner. The meal is accompanied with Live music and Greek Folk Dancing in traditional costumes. Return to your hotel for overnight.

  • Airfare to/from the Tour start point, including domestic or inter-country connecting flights, unless otherwise stated in itinerary.
  • tips and gratuities
  • items of a personal nature such as incidentals, excess baggage charges
  • airport taxes/entrance fees, port charges, foreign government departure taxes
  • Visas (unless otherwise indicated), Inspection, Customs, Immigration and Naturalization fees Additional fuel surcharges on cruises
  • Travel Insurance including Medical, Lost Baggage and Trip cancellation
  • Optional activities (golf, watersports, etc.)
  • any other activities or items not explicitly advertised as included in the price of a Tour

 

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.      In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.      Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.     Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.     Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

       *NOTE: Certain destinations require a 30% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking and therefore, would supersede our standard cancellation policy prior to 90 days in this instance.
