Day 1

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by one of our local Travelous, English-speaking representatives who will be holding a sign with your name printed on it. Your representative will escort you to the hotel and assist you with check-in.

The culturally and architecturally rich Kathmandu stands at an elevation of approximately 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) in the bowl-shaped Kathmandu Valley of central Nepal. It lies at the crossroads of ancient civilizations of Asia and is known as the "City of Temples" because of its numerous and unique temples. The city has a profound history, spanning nearly 2000 years, as inferred from inscriptions found in the valley. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu.

Day 2
Kathmandu

Start your morning off early with a perfect introduction into Nepal with a Mountain flight. Take-off from Kathmandu airport in the early morning for an hour's worth of spectacular scenery. The Mountain flight is suitable for all travelers. For those who are restricted by time from going trekking can get panoramic view of the Himalayas. Continue the day on the ground exploring Nepal's capital city of Kathmandu.

You will first visit Swayambhunath, a temple and monastery, which is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Buddhists. It is also known as the Monkey Temple because of the holy monkeys that live there. Swayambhunath is situated amidst a beautiful natural scenario on the top of a hill, offering a generous panorama of the peaceful city.

You will then be taken to Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu Durbar Square, and Boudhhanath Stupa. These most visited touristic sites offer an authentic representation of Nepalese culture, arts and daily life. In the Pashupatinath Temple, you will find one of the greatest Shiva sites and a Hindu shrine, visitors will have the opportunity to observe different ceremonies and specific rituals of Hindu worship. The most intriguing scene is the cremation area on the banks of the river, next to the temple where visitors can witness a Hindu burial ceremony.

Kathmandu Durbar Square is the next stop. You will be able to enjoy the intricate Newa architecture, used by the indigenous Newari people Kathmandu. The Square is a place of living history in the heart of the ever-modernizing Kathmandu.

The last place you will explore is the Bauddhanath Stupa where you will be amazed by the rich symbolisms found in this famous Tibetan Community and traditional Buddhist temple complex.

Day 3
Pokhara

After breakfast, you will have a chance to visit the narrow, bustling streets of Thamel, the heart of tourism in Kathmandu.

Later in the morning, you will begin your scenic mountainside journey to Pokhara, a total duration of approximately six hours with an exhilarating stop along the way. Enjoy a thrilling three-hour, white water rafting experience on the Trishuli River. After this unforgettable adventure, you will return to the vehicle, which will be waiting downstream to transport you further toyour hotel in Pokhara.

In the evening you get to enjoy a mouth-watering, traditional Nepalese dinner. Due to its diverse geography and culture, Nepal has a wide range of foods for you to experience. Dal bhat, for example, is a traditional dish of lentils and spices served with steamed rice. You will also enjoy a range of spicy chutneys, or achaar, all produced using fresh local ingredient along with few other local dishes.

The remainder of the evening will be at leisure to relax or explore.

Day 4
Pokhara

After an early breakfast, you will embark on a sightseeing tour by private vehicle to the Annapurna range, the most spectacular sight in Pokhara. The crisp morning air allows for utterly breathtaking views of eight resplendent mountains.

Following your morning visit, you will head to Devi Falls, located at a distance of two kilometers from central Pokhara.. The impressive waterfall plunges directly into a deep and narrow canal that seems to have no ends. The next stop is Phewa Lake, the second largest lake in Nepal. It offers an excellent view of the mountains as their tremendous shadows shimmer over its clear waters. Savour the view on a peaceful boat ride.

The next stop will be the beautiful Seti Gandaki, the holiest river in Nepal, worshipped by Hindus as a form of Lord Vishnu.

Finally, you will ascend the Sarangkot Mountain where you will begin an unforgettable paragliding experience. You will glide down from the top of the Sarangkot and land next to Lake Phewa. During your trip down, you will share the experience with eagles whilst you float over several villages, monasteries and temples.

After this memorable tour, you will then be transferred to the hotel where you will have the evening at leisure.

After the day of exploring Pokhara Valley you will ascend the Sarangkot Mountain where you will begin an unforgettable paragliding experience. Together with a qualified pilot, you will glide down from the top of the Sarangkot and land next to Lake Phewa. During your trip down, you will share the experience with eagles whilst you float over several villages, monasteries and temples.

After this memorable tour, you will then be transferred to the hotel where you will have the evening at leisure.

Day 5
Tansen Palpa

After breakfast, you will be driven to Tansen (4,430ft), the capital of the Magar kingdom Tanahun and one of the most powerful regional principalities before the rise of the Shah dynasty. Nestled in the hills, Tansen enjoys a moderate climate with temperatures rarely exceeding 30 Celsius (86F) or going below freezing, making it a beautiful place to visit year-round.

You will visit Srinagar Danda (4,430ft), which offers a panoramic view of the high Himalaya. This is a rare vantage point to view the contrasting manifestation of nature. An incredibly wide panorama of the mountains encompassing Kanjiroba, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Langtang Himal are visible from here. The plains of Mardi valley and the bigger Terai can also be seen from this tremendous point.

After this stunning tour, you will be brought to your hotel where you will spend an enjoyable evening in the Palpa District.

Day 6
Bhairawa/Siddartha Nagar - Lumbini

After breakfast, you will visit some of the most beautiful places in the area and tour the Kali Gandaki River, visiting Ranighat Palace, built 100 years ago by a Rana member. After exploring this solitary and tranquil area, you will descend the dense and serene woody slopes of Rambhapani and Satyawati Lakes. We will also visit a nearby village, which has a unique culture and distinct language known as Magar.

After this, you will be driven to Siddharthanagar, a city also known as "Gateway of Lumbini," the birthplace of the Buddha. Here, you will spend the night.

Day 7
Lumbini

Today you will visit Lumbini, the place where Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddharta Gautama. Lumbini is situated 230 km away from Kathmandu in the Rubandehi District of Southern Terai (lowland), at an altitude of 600 ft. above sea level. Lumbini, respected by all Buddhists, was declared "The Fountain of World Peace" and a pilgrimage site for all the peace-loving people of the world.

The first stop is the Lumbini Garden. This is a site marked by a stone pillar erected by the Indian Emperor Ashoka in approximately 245 B.C. The stone suggests the exact birthplace of Buddha.

Following the Garden, you will visit the Mayadevi Temple. The Temple, dedicated to the mother of Lord Buddha- Mayadevi- was excavated a few years ago. In November 2013, a team of archaeologists digging under the temple discovered the remains of an ancient tree shrine dated before 550 BCE, which is possibly the earliest evidence of Buddhist structures ever found and probably the first archaeological evidence of Buddha"s existence.

The next stop is the Pushkarni Pond. This is the pond where Mayadevi is said to have had a bath before giving birth to Buddha. Many also believe that Buddha was given a purification bath in the pond as well. The final stop is Ramgram stupa, which is believed to be the maternal home of Buddha.

Day 8
Chitwan

After a delicious breakfast in the hotel, you will leave Siddhartha Nagar and travel to the city of Chitwan (meaning Heart of the Jungle). This journey will take approximately three hours.

Upon arrival in Chitwan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, there will be a short briefing on the program and facilities available there. After check-in and lunch in the hotel, you will begin your first tour.

Your first tour in Chitwan National park is the elephant-back safari . You will have the opportunity to saddle up on an elephant to explore the jungle and its wildlife.

Catch a glimpse of the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if you are very lucky, you might even spot the Royal Bengal Tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-3 hours.

Upon finishing up with this stimulating safari, you will head back to your hotel in Chitwan where another tasty Nepalese dinner is served.

The Rhino Residency - Lodge

Day 9
Chitwan

After breakfast, you will return to the National Park for a dugout canoe trip. Floating down the Rapti River in a lofty canoe that has been dug out of a tree, you will discover habitat of crocodiles on the riverbanks. Observe various colourful birds and wildlife species as they flock to the riverbank for a drink of clean water. After your canoe trip, you will visit the elephant-breeding center, which is also located inside the National Park.

After all of these nature activities, you will have an opportunity to embark on some cultural exploration. The first visit will be to a collection of Tharu villages, which are situated next to the Park in beautiful natural surroundings. Tharu people are the indigenous of the Terai (lowlands) and are characterized by large families living under one roof (25 to 120 people). They have a unique culture, tradition and language and their livelihoods depend on the production of agriculture.

In the evening, you might choose to relax by the river and be mesmerized by a fiery sunset with a fresh beverage at hand.

Day 10
Kathmandu

Your day begins with a private transfer back to Kathmandu. The journey to Kathmandu from Chitwan is full of exotic scenery as you wind your way through hills and valleys. Although the distance is only 120 kilometers, the ride will take almost six hours.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Trishuli River, a stop at Malekhu (a local market), and stunning yet ever-changing scenery along the day.

After arriving in Kathmandu, you will have free time to shop or relax as you wish.

Day 11
Kathmandu

Immerse yourself in Nepal's rich heritage on a Temples and Palace Day Tour. Travel by air-conditioned coach to the outskirts of Kathmandu to see Buddhist stupas and Hindu temples.

This tour's first stop is Patan Durbar Square, home to the former Patan Royal Family. After exploring this complex, including the Krishna Temple and Rudra Varna Mahavihar, the Buddhist monastery housing local treasures, you will drive to the Swayambhu Stupa. 365 steps lead to the temple. On a clear day you will get a panoramic view of Kathmandu and, on a clear day, far beyond.

Our next stop is Baudhannath Stupa, where you will meet the local Tibetan community. Here, you will see traditional prayer rolls and the iconic Tibetan prayer flags. Lunch will be provided at this relaxing and quiet location.

The last stop is the impressive Pashupati temple of Lord Shiva. Non-Hindus cannot enter the temple itself, but are free to wander the temple grounds. Here you will see cremation ceremonies and the colorful priests known as "Babas".

Reservations/Booking and Deposits:  To book a Tour, each Traveler (or leader of a Group of Travelers) must submit:

 

A.     A completed booking form signed electronically by the main Traveler. By submitting the booking form on the payments page, the traveler accepts our full Terms and Conditions.  

B.     A deposit of 30% of the Tour price (minimum $250 per person), is due immediately upon booking.

C.     The full balance of the trip cost is due ninety days (90) before the trip departure date.

D.      If you book your trip with us ninety days (90 days) or less before the departure date, the full cost of the trip is due at that time.

E.       In the instance payment is made by certified check or wire transfer, reservations will only commence once the check is cleared.

F.       Availability of Services and Accommodations cannot be guaranteed until a Tour is booked.  We will exercise our best efforts to book the Services and Accommodations described in the Tour Itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of Tour date, we may be forced to offer substitutes.  In this instance we will notify you as soon as possible and try to substitute comparable Services and Accommodations based on availability.

G.      Ticketing & credit card processing for international transport and other select domestic airfare pertaining to a specific country is done by a 3rd party and not included in your total land package price unless otherwise stated.

H.      Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $250 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
